i know we all have excess pain when we go the dentist but there is a word for the condition if i tell them i have pain they tell me they have done nothing yet.
i went to a seminar about fybro at arrow park and a dentist gave a talk and he said we do get more pain than other people becouse of a condition called ????
when i give the dentist the name they understand. that filling cabinet in my brain is locked and i cant remember the proper name

TMJ -Temporomandibular joint disorder.
I was at the dentist a couple of months ago,with agonising tooth/jaw ache. They took x-ray's and thought it was my old filling leaking. Yet nothing showed up on the x-ray. They put in a temp filling and said it would calm down. It didn't. It was SO sensitive, I couldn't eat, chew, stand hot or cold or sugar on my tooth. I went back to get the temp filling replaced for a whole new one and when I told them it was worse than ever ( and this over a month after the temp was put in) they were baffled. Called in the head dentist..took another x-ray and then said, yet again..all seemed well with the tooth. They know that I suffer with Fybro...as I always take in a special pillow for my neck ( I have great trouble putting back over..due to a broken neck ( which caused the fybro)....They wanted to refer me to a specialist..but then said it was just down to my Fybro...and that given time it would settle. ( great! yet more pain on top of everything else!!) Well it's now been 3 months since then and I still have the temp filling in..it's kinda settled down...not completely..but manageable. Thing is..I've now become VERY sensitive to the stuff they numb your tooth up with. It's all new these days and contains They now use Lidocaine with adrenalin. This causes me terrible heart palpitations.......and because of the Fybro..I need an awful lot to numb me up!! So yes, I suffer terribly with TMJ.....all part of the wonderful package that is Fybromyalgia! *sarcastic grin...but really a sob* :(( *gentle hugs and hope you feel some relief soon *
