Has anyone suffered from Bursitis???

i do. mostly in my hips due to osteo arthritis... i have had injections in the past but now with so many other problems i just take pain killers and anti inflamatories and rest as much as i can
I have it in my left hip, got injection for it in october it still hurts...like loopyladye i take anti inflamatories & pain killers and rest is best !!
I had it many times in my right knee when i was younger, however it still feels strange now. I wonder whether it is due to being hypermobile or not? I have read in some research that FM sufferes are prone to it??
I've always got a swollen knee, it doesn't bother me much, but trying to link everything together!!
i get bursitis in my right hip and sometimes the left and boy does it hurt. I also have fibro and arthritis and both my daughter and i have hypermobility. It does make you wonder what is connected to what doesnt it?
Been told I have this in left hip. Got to go back to Doc's to report still painful (6 weeks now) then she will refer me to a colleague re: injection. Same pain in right thigh so not sure if Bursitis, Fm or Arthritis but happy to have injection if the end result is to be out of pain.
Yes mainly in my elbow, and doesn't it hurt. It comes and goes with me, as does the different aches from Fibro.
hi rach1977,
oh my god since my twenties i have suffered bouts extreme soreness in my hips and now shoulders and knees. my hips were so painful i went to a and e a few times as i the pain was unbearable at night in bed. only to be told there was nothing wrong. i have just looked this up and it explains these pains perfectly. i always used to say to doctors i feel like my hips are inflamed. but they told me there was nothing wrong. again another symptoms that by the time you generally get to gp has gone. so you are more accepting at this consultation.
thank you i will speak with rheumatologist and gp about this. you have helped
helped me today. thank you.

Happe.... ahhh what a lovely message. So happy that I may have been of some help to you. Good luck with getting your diagnosis. xxx
Hi all i have bi lateral trochaneric bursits, both hips but left is the most severe, had several injections guided at the hospital, but not lasted for long, then rheumy consultant advised a course of lithotyrpsy which is what they use to break down gall stones in patients using like a soundwave scanner! god does this hurt and bruise like hell with our condition. this didnt do much good either, pain came straight back, not much else can be done consult said only surgery to remove! but didnt really want to do this as it can come back, so have to put up with it, leg feels really funny when its bad really swollen out and lumpy on the left side and like its full of fluid sloshing around at times!
plus u shouldnt rally have more than 5 injections as it causes more problems i was told and the area / bone starts to calcifi, which mine had started to do.
I had bursitis in both hips which used to drive me mad with pain. Like some of you I tried the injections but they did't help one bit. However I was referred to a physiotherapist a year ago and he did some accupuncture on them and I have to say that although it was a little uncomfortable it really made a difference for me. The pain and soreness went right down my leg due to the fibro but the hip pain is much better since then. Hope this helps xx
