Hi there Mags, lyrica is pregbalin, which is the same as gabapentin, and I haven't had any side affect apart from the norm at first like sleepyness ect, it can also make u put on a little bit of weight, but if you watch your diet it won't e so bad , hope this helps Mags, gentle hugs to you....Dee x

I had terrible side effects from Gabapentin, & although they work in the same way & the same area, Pregabalin is different & I haven't had the same sort of side effects from it. But I've been on it for about two 1/2 years now.

I can no longer take my domperidone or citalopram because they clash with it.

I know some people get along really well with it, but it didn't agree with me. Made my migraines & IBS worse, and I also had blurred vision & dizzy spells, not to mention the weight gain. I did sleep much better with it though.

I had really bad side effects from Lyrica, started at 300 mg but was out of it for most of the day, went down to 75 mg and not too bad but it wasn't helping with any of my symptoms, gradually increased over the weeks but as soon as I got to 300 mg went bonkers again, threatened partner , irrational , irritable, a nightmare to live with, crying, shouting ,all sorts, so had to be weaned off it. I know a lot of fibro sufferers are intolerant to meds of any type. I am now trying acupuncture as the consultant has nothing left to try. I hope that you are okay with it and it eases some of your symptoms.

Was taken off Lyrica because I was getting rapid heartbeat and chest pains. It wasn't helping me anyway! Still get the chest wall and rib cage pains so it may not have been Lyrica to blame for those. However the palpitations are not as bad now.

Hi, I am on Lyrica and have been for a couple of months now. I started off on 75 mg night and morning and although to start with it made me very confused and sleepy during the day, these did begin to wear off, but it wasn't have ping much effect in dulling the pain. So I was told I needed to go up to 300 mg aday spread out how I wanted and what worked best for me. Just after Christmas I increased to 150 mg at night and 75 mg in the morning. Since doing this, this drug is like hell here on earth

I am so confused that I now can not leave the house on my own as if I get to the top of our road (7 houses) I am not sure of where I am , where I was going to or how to get back home. It has also made me beyond a joke sleepy. I have Fallon asleep for over four hours on a stool( no back t,I it) and my daughter woke me up after falling asleep leaning on the wall over the kitchen bin.

If I have one of these sleep attacks I wake up in such a state, I can't remember where my kids are , if I have fed them, if they have gone out etc and I am in tears and very scared.

I really hate this drug, it does help with some pain but the side effects for me are too much
