Moving abroad

You need to tell the relevant benefits offices that deal with your benefits that you’re moving abroad.
They will tell you if you can continue to get your benefits while you’re abroad.
Hello I have actually asked that question as I get ADP I’m in Scotland, I was advised that I would get the benefit if I was out of country for upto 13 weeks, if it was a permanent move my benefit would stop all together prior to leaving the country. I wouldn’t be entitled to a penny.
I don’t know where you are in the UK but PIP can give you the answer, I waited 45 minutes on the phone until they picked it up 🤷♀️
Hi, Gov.uk website explains what you can claim. Here's the link - gov.uk/claim-benefits-abroa....
Hope it helps.
Presumably you have an EU passport too? Recently back from Spain myself too. Health metrics so much better overwintering there
I live in Tenerife ,,,,oved fro Scotland 8 yrs ago. Wouldn't live anywhere else now due to wonderful weather here.
Yes you can still clai PIP but only one part. This is due to the other part being 'non exportable...........the part you can get is
x the care/ Not the mobility. And you can have it paid to your bank account on the island.

I was told that was true before 2021 but may have changed now. Xx

Glad too read Dizzytwo has written a helpful reply, I said too my husband if it wasn’t for our grown up children /grandchildren I would seriously think about not being here for the Winter months as I hate the cold and tends too keep me indoors a lot more. We went over too Tenerife a couple times (awhile back now )and being out of season the temperature was just right, a lovely place too visit as well x
I’ve had lifelong fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. When I lived in Mallorca for 6 years my health was much, much better. I believe the island air was very healing. I’m a US citizen so I don’t know the ins and outs of English bureaucracy, but I encourage you to make it work! Stay there. I came back 40 years ago and have had a severe case of ME/CF since. Good luck to you! Dual citizenship or making sure you return to England regularly ought to keep your options open.
