Hi

I just thought I’d introduce myself. I am new to this forum and to Health Unlocked.

I have had ME/CFS for approx 25 years and I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia approximately a year ago although I think I have probably had it a lot longer.

Does anyone have any recommendations of things that help with the pain. I struggle to sleep sometimes because of the pain and I find that the less sleep I have the worse the pain is. I can’t exercise much because it causes my ME/CFS to get worse.

I don’t particularly take pain medication other than paracetamol because a lot of them interact with my other medications or cause me worse side effects.

Hello, just want too Welcome you too the forum, I have CFS /Fibro and treated Sleep apnea, like you getting quality sleep can be difficult (I wear a full face mask with the apnea) I tried too thing of things that will help me personally, always a warm bath in the evenings (Epsom salts) too try relax my body , differently rest period before bed time, I use a lavender pillow spray, a relaxing balm on my forehead (herbs on the hill)can get online as based in Somerset) been using them a few years now and they come highly recommended). I am using a Cannabi hemp rub in cream (can buy from Amazon EBay etc) Hemp, Rosemary,Arnica, Eucalyptus, I put it on my most troublesome areas ,which for me is Shoulder blades, neck, lower back . I always run anything by my pharmacist especially if on any medications. Very hard as we try excercises but the Cfs can kick off when it fells like it, but I’m sure like me you do your best even a little walk. I’ve been with this forum a few years as it’s very well run by the team, always reading something new from a member, helpful advice, and sometimes we even have a good moan /vent too let it out . Xx

Thank you for the welcome and the reply. I will have to try adding Epsom salts to the bath, never tried that before.

I don’t think the lavender pillow spray will help unfortunately as I am hypersensitive to smells. How strong is the smell of it?

Does the rub in cream you use have a strong smell or is it unscented?

Thank you for your suggestions.

You can differently smell the Eucalyptus but it soon wears off and not a nasty smell for the Cannabi cream, Herbs on the hill lavender spray is not too strong I’ve just tried their products over the last few years ,they even use on the NHS on patients, their little pot of magic (they call it I use on my temples , forehead ,mixture of scents lavender, peppermint etc , I tried a lot of Companies in the past but struck with this one, I have to try get off too sleep as fast as I can but when your un comfortable or pain levels are higher not easy wearing the Cpap mask on top so their are nights I look at the clock and it’s 2am 🙁, I’ve a small palate so no chance of stopping it , people who are smokers or over weight can do something too resolve it(the sleep apnea). I can be over sensitive too some smells, today I put some Cinnamon drops on my lavender bags as getting a lot of Spiders (they don’t like the smell ) trying too deter them coming in , my husband cannot smell anything . Having the Combination of our 2 conditions is not always easy , I still find it hard and still telling myself too try take it one day at a time .
