What's causing my symptoms?

Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia about 10 years ago, I also have hashimotos and type 2 diabetes. Lately I've been feeling really unwell all the time. I have dizziness, pain in my brainstem/neck and jaw, also in my joints, I get aura migraines, slurred speech, unsteady on my legs, brain fog, cognitive problems and my whole body feels shaky. My brain doesn't feel like it belongs to me, I say things that I don't even know that I've said, my thoughts are all over the place. I'm exhausted but can't sleep at night. I recently found out my metformin wasn't being absorbed so it's been changed to instant release from slow release, but my blood tests are OK, my thyroid levels are OK at the moment too. I struggle to do anything around the house and going out is impossible, I certainly cannot drive like this.

My question is, could this be my Fibromyalgia and are the doctors missing something?

They seem to treat one thing at a time instead of addressing all of my issues, so it's been like this for years. This particular problem has got progressively worse over the last 18 months, to the point where I've hardly been functioning in the last 5 weeks.

( I have been referred for a brain scan to rule out anything sinister, as the doctor put it, but I'm not convinced that that's the problem).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys x

Hello, it is unpleasant too feel unwell most of the time and we do start too question what is fibro and what’s not, hopefully the appointment for the brain scan will come threw soon, you’ve had blood tests which is helpful ,but I know what you mean we know our own bodies and the feeling sits with us that something is not right. So it seems visits too the doctors trying too get the right help and as you say it been years in order too get things done. Keep at them you are entitled too get answers (I’m with you it’s hard work getting these things checked) I know I’ve come away from an appointment and thought did I get anywhere , sending my best wishes xx

I am currently feeling that neck pain too. So driving is not something I will be doing today! I have 3 different pillows to choose from depending on how my neck is. Told the GP about spasms/twitches so I'm waiting for a referal to come through to check my breathing through the night ( doesnt make sense, also possible reason for feeling tired after sleep)

Sounds like fibro... And yes the doctors are very likely to be missing something. Hope your change of metformin and scan works out for you. Health x.
