is anyone suffering with brittle fingernails. Mine are just peeling off and I’m left with just the skin underneath.

I know it’s just cosmetic but my hands look awefull.

try taking biotin supplement and paint them with salt Hanson hard as nails. It worked for me . Hope it works for you.

I also have had brittle nails for years and have tried various things but now just paint them to cover the nails.

I could never grow them so keep them short which helps the look! If I leave them to grow even slightly they break at the edges and I can peel them off which you shouldn’t be able to do.

My toe nails are not brittle they are the opposite they are hard and thick and as I can’t physically cut them myself more due to my hands and not being able to bend down and go to the chiropractor.

I have tried different methods to change the nails but none have actually worked for me.

Same for me, weak, brittle, vertical ridges, squared off & not round over the nail (not the tips) And, my toenails, are overalls strong & an effort to cut! I have Fibro as well.

I also have rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis as well as obviously fibromyalgia.

I was told the ‘nail’ problem was linked

hi, I have read that psoriatic arthritis also causes damages to nails and nail beds. which peel off.

I use Leighton Denny RENOVATE tiny tube, bit only tiny bit needed.. When nails really bad, mine too tight now, ise DAILY FOR 2 wks.. his advice. Dont paint in this time as renovate needs to be massaged into whole nail. Its expensive but v good. If you cant find it, try his renovate OIL capsules bit i dont think theyre anywhere as good..

Good luck!

You may have a fungal infection affecting your nails. I'd see your GP or maybe ask a pharmacist about it.

It’s definitely not fungal I have had them checked by a specialist.

We seem to have the same nail issues brittle ridges etc and I was told by the professionals that is is linked to the conditions I have

Hi 196912I have this and use Tropic nail oil. I think the actio of rubbing the oil in every day helps the circulation too.

There are other makes.

Some supplements have been suggested.

The vertical lines I have split,my nail lady said site of old injury and I think she is right ( hand shut in car door)

They get thin if I have false nails or gels.

They need to breathe

My are much better when I take the time.

Have to not use harsh cleaning products or they flake.

We are delicate blossoms.x

Take care

thank you all so much for your advice and love.

I know it’s not the worst of symptoms but they are sore and look awful.

Much love to you all my friends.

Yes! Keep them short and oil them every day (especially when you go to bed). I only paint mine for special occasions now. They barely survive beyond the end of my fingertips.
