I am now 58 & at present having a fibromyalgia flare up which only have movement of my lower left arm & both legs do not work they have gone weak & unable to even raise then I can normally weight bare to transfer to my wheelchair but unable to at present, how long this will last I am not sure as first time it has happened since my diagnosis back in 1993 of fibromyalgia, its just been pain in the past.
I have 5 types of arthritis fibromyalgia is just one of them.
I was told many years ago by my rheumatologist that my flare up would get worse as I get older but did not realise it would happen at my age.
Does any one else suffer from this condition my age or older if so what do you do when this happens my GP (family doctor) has been out to see me & because of the amount of pain relive that I take can not help me.
I am a positive person who help & support others & still do despite the amount of conditions that I suffer from, as I have over 20 medical conditions.
My question what do I do to improve my situation and can any thing help me, (I do do have carers to help me)?
Many thanks Kenny x.

Hello Kenny, sorry too read of your current flare up, some of us do have a mixed bag of conditions with our Fibro (if that’s not enough on it’s own ☹️) what was your GP s advice ? Would it be helpful too be referred too see Rheumatologist, it’s the not knowing if this is going too be permanent or just because of the flare. So nice too read you still look out for others even with your conditions and you remain positive 😃I think if we can still brighten up someone else’s day with kindness it’s such a postive thing for us. I hope the careers are on duty when you are moving from your wheelchair for your safety. I have bad arthritis in my knee , oh too be middle aged. 😉take care of yourself .
Hi Yasstina, thanks for your reply, I am better now, I called my doctor out to my home he did not understand about fibromyalgia & was convinced it might be a stroke and wanted me to go to the hospital for a head MRI Scan I refused as I have a stroke condition which affects my left side only & was able to move my lower left arm & hand no slurring of speech or seizure.
He said would give me sleeping tablets but still waiting & that was last Tuesday, Saturday I woke up & was able to move my legs & weight bare & move my upper left arm, but had a seizure which is through my heart condition, so I am still in pain & banged my head on kitchen sink so left with a bump on my head & a bit sore.
You are right I do help & support a lot of people on Facebook & hope next year to start running the Versus Arthritis group again locally.
