Hello, I think it would be good too speak too a doctor at your surgery for a piece of mind, headaches can be caused by so many things and not just a symptom of Fibro,I was recently checked by my doctor for this and a recent visit too Specsavers who were brilliant, I also paid for an OCT Scan £10 s which did pick up changes too my left eye and another check up in 6months, also prescription had changed this time for glasses , I hope you get too the bottom of this very soon, in the meantime take care😃
Hiya, I can't remember the last time I didn't have a constant headache 😏. I've tried Amitriptyline and Duloxotine and now I'm 10 days in on trying Nortriptyline. I'm not impressed yet! I know many on here find medication works but I'm not convinced. Heat is the only thing that gives me some rest bite from the constant gnaw of pain and I can't seem to escape the fatigue. Sadly I don't have an answer for you but can understand and empathise. I'm of the opinion try everything you can stomach and afford. I think it's a combination of things and not just one solution but who has the energy 😴. Best of luck and don't give up x
Hi Bar123neyI am on Amitriptyline for my headaches and for helping me sleep. I tried to come off of Amitriptyline independently a couple of years ago and within 5 days my headaches were back and I felt terrible. My doctor then said I must not come off of them without their supervision. I know everyone has different symptons and different medications but if you are getting your headaches back, I suggest you visit your doctor again for advice.
Hiya, I've never got the headaches to stop but they have been worse since starting the Nortriptyline. I'm trying to get through the first month to see if they settle. You seem to get to a point where you have to choose, symptoms over side affects 🤷😩. Interesting they gave you amitriptyline to treat headaches. I honestly don't think they know how to treat us 😏
Try feverfew for headaches 390 mg I don’t get any now , worked after two days and it’s natural
Thanks 👍 I will look into that 🙂
Please bear in mind there is no money in it for the doctors for LDN so probably won’t recommend it , my neurologist recommended for me and said it’s definitely worth trying I’ve had zero side affects too, I have to pay £22 per month for it. If you need anything else please shout back x
Hi, was the LDN response definitely for me? We were talking feverfew so thought I best double check! thanks 👍
Yes I thought I would mention it as it’s helped with my fibromyalgia and no side affects, I thought it was worth saying as you might not of heard of it and in hope it helps you too
Oh that's kind thank you 🙏. I only checked just in case someone else was missing out on your response. Who do you pay £22 to? Is your LDN naproxen? Also, I've always wondered too if doctors prescribe stuff that they make money out of versus the best fit for the patient 🤔. Can't help but be a little suspicious!
Low dose naltrexone, my doctor said she can’t prescribe it as it’s not officially prescribed for fibromyalgia. She also said to give it a try though as it’s an old drug very well tolerated and safe with very little side effects. My neurologist recommended it. I get mine from Dickinson chemist Glasgow, they post it every month they are really good to deal with.
Ps I’ve been so impressed with the feverfew though no headache it worked after two days . Apparently 3rd party tests are important. This was £15 for 6 months supply
LDN for Fibro and 390mg feverfew for headaches, it’s really helped me
