Hi, I have just joined and am new to all this. But I am hoping that being in touch with folk may be beneficial and supportive for myself and others in sharing. I have had fibromyalgia for decades and now osteoarthritis. Getting older seems to have made everything worse.
I have a flare up at the moment of symptoms not previously experienced, but reading other folks emails I realise my symptoms all point to Fibromyalgia flares!!!! Yuk!
Suffer particularly with hot tingly dry feet. Made worse after walking. Also, I have to have my feet outside of my duvet at night to keep them cool and from over heating. In winter this leads to chilblains sometimes. In summer to keep them cool I place a hot water bottle from my freezer (nice and cold) and place my feet on that.
I have an added Dome mattress topper to make my bed more comfortable. I take paracetamol very night which helps with sleep and taking the edge off stiffness in the morning. I could hardly get out of bed some days recently from painful stiffensess.
It's all yuk yuk and yuk again. There is much more I have to manage, but you all understand.
Keep smiling and seek out fun things and people....! We need to laugh more.

Hello and welcome , yes I’ve been on the forum a few years,it’s very helpful having a chat , helpful advice and yes sharing the empathy as we take day too day. Xx
Welcome to the group. My feet are like yours all the time but especially at night. I bought myself a gel filled cooling mat last year. It's designed for dogs but I was so desperate it was worth trying. I find it helpful. The only trouble is making my feet and legs stay on it. 😉Best wishes
jML do a chillmax gel pillow, it’s actually just a mat with gel in, but it stays cold quite a while. It’s also soft, so idea for inside your pillowcase for your head or resting your feet on if your feet get so hot. Would certainly be softer than your hot water bottle.
Lots of companies sell it online & it’s also in supermarkets.
We got them to cope with the hot summers over the last few yrs.
Good luck with finding anything that helps you cope with this awful fibromyalgia, it sure is the devil 👿 at times🥴
Welcome Plant Foods 🤗 I relate to taking 2 paracetamol at night to help with the morning pain and stiffness. My feet are a problem at night going from too hot to too cold in no time. So my lower legs are going in and out of the duvet like maniacs many nights.I saw the reply by DoubleMalibu and I am delighted. I'm going to get a gel pillow as my whole body goes from sweating to freezing too. There I am turning my pillow over, dangling my legs out of the bed, tossing and turning like I don't know what! 🤣
If I take melatonin with the paracetamol, I sleep well, only waking a couple of times for the bathroom and I feel better in the morning. Take care and look after yourself. xx 😘
