I have been reading posts on here for quite a while now. I had Polymyalgia for about 11 years until PET scan showed no inflammation. It was then decided with all the pain and fatigue that I have…. Fibromyalgia. I cannot tolerate meds have tried the usual ones, I am still on 5 mg steroid, frightened to try and lower because of already feeling so ill. Do anyone see a Rheumatologist? I often wonder if I have something else other than Fibromyalgia, but what tests are there to show otherwise? I also have Osteoarthritis in lower spine. Would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you

Hi, I can absolutely relate to what you're saying! I think the doctors give us the diagnosis of fibromyalgia when they have run out of ideas of what else it can be. You sit there thinking there must be something actually 'real' causing it because I feel so unwell and it's ruining my life. To me it feels unfair but I'm at the end of the road with trying to fight for a different explanation and I'm trying to accept this is me now and living with it best I can. I hope you are aware that 1 out of 5 PMR don't have raised inflammation markers.

Yes, have never had raised inflammation markers like many others. Can’t argue with a PET scan though which is what my brilliant Rheumatologist ordered. Thank you
