Hi there! My rheumatologist suggested having a look online for info/support groups/etc. in regards to fibromyalgia (I have about 50 other problems but fibro just has a way of being that obnoxious 'me me me!' condition) so I thought I would come and say hey

Hello
Hello and welcome tinyblonde... I'm sure other folks will be along sometime soon. Personally, have just returned from my youngest daughters who was born on St. Patricks Day in 1992, so I'm full of Guiness and good cheer at present!
Hi tinyblonde, welcome to the forum.it can be quite on the weekends here but this is a great forum for information and a bit of fun too. the administration staff is great have a question just ask! Take care. Nite nite🌜. Chris x
Welcome and yes Fibromyalgia has a way of pushing to the front. I’m new here to but I think most people on here have a lot more than just Fibromyalgia I know I do.
Hi and welcome tiny xx
Welcome to the friendly and informative Fibro forum. Agree with other posts people ask questions and moderators or others give answers/links. Regarding support groups.....
fmauk.org is our parent site.On there you can find a support group you wish to attend and make connections. Personally going to a group saved me from becoming a recluse.
Also on the main site are items of merchandise that you can buy to raise awareness. Fmauk has available booklets on Fibro which are great for family/friends to read to help them understand this condition. Please post how you progress
oh nearly forgot(not suprising with Fibro fog)
2 ways to go with Fibro ..it can rule you or you rule it. Everyday you decide.
Hi tinyblonde
Welcome. ind my asking you when your fibro started, what meds u take or have taken. Just asking out of interest as other people are finding certain links with certain drugs causing fibro and according to my contacts in the neuro/medical profession fibro is being reviewed. Jeremy Hunt is concerned about the type of drugs being prescribed for fibro et al.
hi, i've had fibro for a few years but its gotten worse the past year. most of my meds aren't for fibro but for problems in my spine etc. so i have a mix of opioids, nortriptyline, gabapentin for the main part and CBD oil to use during working hours/travel days as i can't drive or work as efficiently on opioids. this year all ym doctors are finally trying to use each others notes so they can find an appropriate treatment plan!
Hi tinyblonde
can i ask if you feel the cbd oil is helpful? i've heard mixd things
For me, it really isn't the miracle some people claim it to be. It helps a bit to dull the pain enough until I can get home, relax and take my usual meds. I do know someone who finds it really helpful in getting through the working day, so I really think it depends on each individual and is worth a try!
