Hi im new here No about the pillows
The hydrotherapy yes i got refered 6 to 8 weeks
It was good and helpfull
Can be a bit sore after but not for long
Depending who refered so etines there's a
Occupational therapist in the pool too
Definitely recommend
Usually high demand for it as well
Did you get referred through your gp, i have asked my surgery to do that x
Yes it was through gp referal to Occupational therapy who put me on list
Got refered to them first
Physiotherapy refer as well usually wating lists
Sorry can't help you with the pillow situation as choice is so individual. As fat as hydrotherapy is concerned I honestly wish I could have it every week but in my area only allowed 6 sessions. It is completely different exercising on warm water with thr guidance of a physiotherapist. I found it very beneficial. Must admit had mirr pain after the first couple of sessions but then really started to feel the benefit. Particularly helped with walking. Good luck.x
Hi, I bought a Silent Night body support pillow, which folds into a 'V' shape, to which I rest around the neck, I personally love this pillow.
Best pillow I have found is a very expensive goose down pillow which my mother-in-law left at my house by accident 😁. I did have hydrotherapy for my neck, it didn't help at all but I did like being in the hot water...
I have recently purchased this pillow after buying many others only to find too hard or not supportive and admit this has been a game changer for my neck pain. It is soft and supportive which is a must I think if you have a painful neck unlike a lot of other memory foam pillows that are like a brick.
Hi there after going through loads of different kind of pillow for neck pain over time I found these and I can honestly these are the best pillow I have ever used to help with really bad neck and shoulder pain...I have added a link so you can take a wee look.... martianmade.co.uk/products/...
If you have Amazon prime you can buy them on there for free delivery 😉
Thanks i wondered if the martainmade site is an english site or american they are just the pillows i want x
Hiya yeah I think they are based in London somewhere, I ordered mine on Amazon and they came next day fab pillows and they come with a guarantee too.
Any luck with getting access to hydrotherapy? I'm in the Edinburgh area and there are no referrals through the NHS for hydrotherapy unfortunately 😔@
Dunelm have some good pillows I bought one for side sleeping as I suffer with neck and shoulder issues, this helped and not too expensive either
Aww man, the struggle to find comfortable pillows is real!
I’m constantly trying different ones, from cheap to expensive, in the hope that something will suit me. Even if I think they’re ok to start with, it never lasts 🙁
However, might be something to do with the fact that I sleep like a spinning top - side, back, other side, front - and no-one has invented a pillow for that! 😂
I used to have terrible neck/upper back pain made worse at night!!!I bought one of those cheap flight pillows that looks like a half ring... After buying so many pillows in the past!
It is so successful 4 me!
I take it everywhere to sleep.
So comfortable...
Sort of memory foam that keeps my spine straight.
V rarely get that sort of neck pain anymore...
Washable cover.
And they're abt £6/7.00 from Dunelm...
Wonderful solution for me!
Maybe trial it as it's cheap???
Good luck to you

Hi,
Best option is to make it yourself using cut up foam pieces sewn into a pillow case. I have not used a purchased pillow for over 35 years as I simply make my own.
Purchase some cheap foam - remember to check the density before you buy; not too soft or too hard - from an upholsterer, and cut it up into varying sizes and shapes to suit your needs. I cut mine roughly anywhere between 2x2cm to 4x4cm and at all differing shapes. Pour them into a pillow case about three quarters full and sew it closed.
This then allows you to mould the pillow any way you require it depending on how you are feeling. I have 2 versions of this, one normal size pillow case and one half size pillow case. I then just add and remove another pillow case each week like you normally do on a wash day. Once in a while you can just wash the whole pillow and then after a few years just make a new one.
I consider my home made pillows as part of my medicine cabinet/treatment. You can also vacuum pack them down to take on holiday with you.
Give it a try as you have nothing to lose. You can make your own pillow for less than a fiver! Hope this helps.
Regards,
Phanerzoic.
Hi. I use a 'Groove' pillow. It's about £30, so not the cheapest but was recommended it by a friend who had an accident fracturing a bone in their cervical spine and bought one following a recommendation from a nurse. It doesn't get rid of my neck and back pain entirely but I have found it comfortable to sleep on. The pain also doesn't get worse at night when sleeping on it.
