After attending the pain management course i have set myself a goal to go on holiday in the new year, somewhere that requires going through an airport. i have been avoiding them and miss travelling like i used to ๐ฌ.
However with all our types of illnesses, i wondered if anyone knew of insurers that would insure us for holidays in the caribbean or on a cruise etc?
i have fibromyalgia, cfs/me, arthritis, epilepsy, scoliosis, migraine, gilbertโs etc.
Any pointers would be really helpful-as this community has been a lifesaver. i asked for help applying for pip in August and i received a letter this week confirming i had been awarded enhanced for both parts. i did not even have to have an assessment.
i was so anxious and the form was so overwhelming, but we ( my husband helped lots too) took it slowly, looked at the sites i was referred to and the advice given on here and was amazed at the speed and ease that it was processed. ii had been putting it off for a few years as i couldnโt face the stress, but with the advice and support given i cannot thank everyone enough, you are all amazing people, helping others, while having your own issues, i am so grateful ๐๐๐๐๐๐ฆ
i now feel ready to start the new me, positively, pacing and making the most of each day where i can๐
Any help is so very much appreciated, love and hugs to you all๐๐๐ค๐ฆ

We normally do a comparison search and just see what options come up. There are some companies who specialise in people with chronic health conditions, but do not know their names
i took my cruise insurance with holiday extra, to be honest i dont understand the policy and what happens ha, but with a cruise you need it. for my it seemed a goid idea at time of booking thinking of things id like to do bucket list. but to be honest i go january and now thinking why did i book it . hope you get sorted and enjoy
Whenever we go away I always have all my conditions declared to not be covered by the insurance anyway because I'm not going to seek medical attention for any of them anyway. That way I'm covered for emergencies but don't have to pay for everything else.
All medical conditions need to be declared as if even if you have an accident which god forbid we donโt want .If they are not declared you wonโt get treated for anything.Insurances are crafty and will try to wriggle out of things. This time round the bank I am with has where you pay ยฃ13 month that covers travel, phone insurance ,car breakdown.. This covers your partner you live with too. Then I had to ring the company connected to it for to cover my health conditions.even if you have been to doctors in past year you have to say.I am so pleased my sister advised me to this as it was hundreds cheaper than what companyโs I normall try and thatโs by a comparison site
Hi there are lots of insurers out there that will cover chronic health conditions, you can use comparison sites, Medicaltravelcompared.co.uk is one I've used in the past. I've also used Staysure, Good to Go, and at the moment we're using Sainsbury's Travel Insurance. I always do a comparison and get quite a few quotes before I select one, check the cover they provide, the cheapest isn't always the best. We have an annual policy because we go abroad a few times a year.
When you fly request special assistance at the airport, if you book a package holiday you can request it through them. It's definitely worth it, no standing in long queues for ages, wheelchair assistance to and from the plane, or in some of the bigger airports like Gatwick they have little buggies, like golf carts, to take you to and from the gates.
Hope you go on holiday, it's got to be good for you, I know my holidays help my wellbeing a lot! And have a lovely time, away from the cold UK.
thank you very much, these are really good suggestions and i will give them all try๐ i never thought about support at the airport ๐คฆโโ๏ธ . i knew this was the best place to go for pointers, i really appreciate your help and i am determined to go on a holiday as i know my other half really wants to go too ๐
