Hi everyone

I’m new here and I’m a bit nervous . I’ve had fibromyalgia since 2016 . I’ve also got severe degenerative disc disease . Every day is an uphill struggle with trying to get on top of my pain . It’s been reassuring to read some of your posts to know that I’m not alone in what I’m going through .

Does anyone suffer with restless leg syndrome . I take Ropinirole an hour before bed , but some nights it has no effect and I’m left pacing the house as my legs are so irritable . The feeling seems to spread up through my body into my arms .

sending lots of love to everyone 😘

Hi Karry, welcome ☺️. There's no need to be nervous here as this is a very welcoming forum with lots of great support. I've only been here a few months myself so I'm very new here too. I can absolutely understand how lonely it can feel even with great friends and family. I don't get restless legs like you (sounds awful) but I'm a restless person! My mantra is be kind to yourself and celebrate the small wins! Take care and gentle fibro hugs x

Restless legs? Sometimes this indicates a Vit B deficiency. How is your tummy and diet? Make sure you eat a balanced diet and supplement if you are not absorbing all those important nutrients. B12 can be low if you are vegan or have some tummy issues particularly those affecting absorption of nutrients, so you could ask to be checked? Or just take a good easily absorbed supplement for a while to see if it helps?

So many weird symptoms are just indicators something is out of whack or missing. Fibro and IBS etc got together like peas and carrots so I'd always check how my tummy is doing when I start new symptoms like this.

Sometimes overdoing sugar can make you feel restless inside too.

Hi , Thankyou so much for your reply , I do eat a balanced diet , but maybe I do need extra B vitamins . I do have IBS which can flare up at any time . I will mention it to my doctor or pharmacist and see what they can recommend . Take care .

Hi Karry66, you'll find lots of good advice and loads of lovely people on here so no need to feel nervous. 😊

Have you ever tried magnesium spray/oil/lotion for your restless legs? You can use it anywhere you need it.

I use it just about everywhere! Epsom salt baths, weighted blanket, tonic water (it's the quinine that helps) all good for RLS.

Hope you find something to help, it's so 😩😩😩😩

Hi CheetieCat , Thankyou so much for messaging with some brilliant ideas for RLS. I haven’t tried them so will definitely give them a go . It is a horrible condition . Take care 🙂

I don't know about restless leg, but my whole body will jerk me awake as soon as I start to fall asleep, or I'll bite my tongue/cheek a few times a night and wake up in awful pain lol.. I don't understand why, I just know it hurts so bad and then it's even harder to get back to sleep than when just awakening from hearing a sound or having a nightmare because of the pain🙃 the only things my doctors will prescribe (Australia) are valium or temazepam as nighttime relaxers, but only extremely rarely, and for good reason, so unless I want to drink every night this is my normal..😕 sorry I'm no help, sometimes hearing from others can be comforting though, and I'm hoping this may help in some way, just to hear you're not alone.💗
