Adult disability Scotland

Hi am from Scotland and we no longer have PIP its now called adult disability Scotland and I applied for the back in November and I they received all my paperwork from myself on the 21st December 2022, and I still haven't had any response on whether or not am getting it or not. I was just wondering if anyone else here is from Scotland and currently waiting on or gets adult disability payment. If so how long did it take for you to get a answer from them. I have called them many times and they keep saying the same thing that a case worker hasn't looked at it and they'll be in touch as soon as they make a decision.

I had my sister in law help me with the application form. When I phone them they are very nice bit a lot of the time they just say they have a massive back log. Now while I understand that there has been postal strikes and they had a lot of back log with covid but it seems to be taking forever. I just wish they would be able to give me some sort of time frame of how long it will take.

One of our admin teams hubby had his pip review and he just got his decision after a 12 months wait. So sadly it sounds like the answer to your question is how long is a piece of string. Fingers crossed you wont have to wait too long.

Hi, yes I understood. But was just using that as maybe some kind of timescale for other awards. I do know many have waited almost that long for their first pip award. There is a big back log and it is taking quite some time.

Some fall lucky and hear quite quickly.

the thing to keep in mind is the ADP process is very different than that carried out for PIP by the DWP. I think the times are a lot quicker due to the process in Scotland being completely different. I think Hazel_Angelstar could comment on this.

I think I've seen 6-8 months being mentioned. I suspect that it may be taking longer than anticipated purely down to the number of applicants.

I also applied for this in November. I haven't had an award letter yet but received a back dated payment put into my bank account yesterday. My Gp phoned me at the end of January to say that she had had a letter from them asking for more information. Hopefully you should hear something soon.

Can I ask when u put the 2nd part of the your claim in cause as you'll know its done in two parts. My 2nd part they received on the 21st December 2022, so I guess if you've heard from them then hopefully it won't be long to I've hear from them.

1st part was actually the end of September and 2nd part was beginning of November.

My 1st part was put in at the end of November and the 2nd was received by them on the 21st December so here's hoping that'll hear something soon from them.

hi I’m from Scotland yes I think it’s taking longer than usual. I’m on pip still but awaiting an appeal. If I can put in context I put my appeal in january and they said they have up until April to look at it. So you have phoned them at least they know you are waiting . Hope this helps 🤞

Got my award letter yesterday, been awarded standard living component and the higher mobility. Both awarded for 5 years. Hope you do not have to wait much longer to hear from them.
