I will be celebrating my 54th birthday on 9th March but I also have lots of friends and family who have birthdays in March - in total there are 8 birthdays one of which is my eldest son who is 28 this year. March is also always a positive month for me because spring is round the corner and warmer weather on the way (we hope). I struggle so much in the winter and it has taken until this year to make the connection with the weather, I was diagnosed in 2017. I have learnt that I literally have to write off 4 or so months of the year because of pain and exhaustion - my bed is my favourite place!

It is not nice but comforting to hear I'm not the only person who is affected by the the winter, I kept thinking I was getting worse and then summer comes along and I can function, it took me so long to make the connection.

Winters for me are get up, work all day - luckily from home because I can't manage a shower but just a stand up wash - then I go back to bed around 6pm because I'm exhausted. I am so rock 'n roll! 🤣 🤣

Where do you live? We're about to get our coldest day ever this week according to the news 🥶.

I live in Penrith, west of Sydney, Australia. Just entered Autumn here, but so far it's been hotter than summer so I'm enjoying it (as much as I can with the never-ending pain🤭). Ohh noo, I hope you can keep warm and get through the day with as little pain as possible! Where abouts are you?

It's also my 54th birthday on the 17th March Saint Patrick's Day. It's my sister-in-law's 50th birthday on the 13th March (my brother's wife) they live in America because work took them over there. They both were coming over with my 2 nephews to see her family in Birmingham to celebrate her 50th birthday then come up to see me the day before my birthday and on my birthday. It is always my thinking there is always someone else worse off than yourself although we all suffer different medical issues and we are all individuals. Anyway long story short she is one of 6% of women in America that has just been diagnosed with breast cancer De Novo wide spread. At first she was stage 3 and the plan was to start chemo and radiotherapy for 24 weeks then surgery however after further scans it's shown wide spread cancer. Planned treatment is not going ahead now and not able to travel to see family. After the medical insurance gives the ok she will start on medication to help prolong her life and help with symptoms. It puts everything in to perspective that although we all have our problems it's true that we must however we feel keep positive as life is so precious and you never know what is round the corner so live life to the full as best as you are able to and what amazes me although her life is very very uncertain beyond the next year or two she remains positive that the treatment will prolong her life and that she was able to take one of my nephew's to a music festival last weekend although she was very tired to make another special memory for the both of them. Never give up ❤️❤️❤️xxxxx

I would like to wish you a very happy birthday for 17th - at least you know loads and loads of people are celebrating the same day 🇮🇪🍻💚!I am so sorry to hear about your sister, it certainly does put life into perspective doesn't it - I really hope the treatment works well for her💗.

I have learnt to look at what I have got rather than what I haven't and I live in the present to try and help me focus on the here and now, rather than what has been and what might be to come. It's helped me a lot and certainly helps with managing my fibromyalgia.

Omg...I could have written exactly the same thing, except I'll be 58...lolSo many birthdays in March and winter terrible.

I usually get away to a warmer climate for a week in the winter but although it's lovely to be in the sun again, still have to come back to same thing ...

A very happy 58th to you 🎉💐🤩🥰I would love to be able to get away to a warmer climate but, like you say, you have to come back and you certainly notice the cold and damp then.

Whoever finally started making the heated blankets needs a medal! I don't think I would manage without mine; I have put on my work chair and sit in it with furry boot slippers on my feet in the day - saves money on putting the heating on! It's been a Godsend 😊.
