Fybromylgia symptoms
Hi, Yes I did suffer the same but after speaking to GP I am now taking Amitriptyline . I started on a low dosage but have had to increase to 100mgs. I still have the occasional difficulty in getting to sleep but when I finally do sleep I sleep well.
So the motto is to see your GP, or at least speak to him/her over the telephone to get this terrible problem sorted. Good Luck.
Mean while A Merry Christmas To You and A Healthier New Year,
Have you tested for sleep problem? I found out through testing that I have a mild case of sleep apnea. With the CPAP machine I now sleep a lot better.
Hi Catlady68, same for me I'm afraid. I'm constantly wakening up throughout the night, it's exhausting! I have no problems falling asleep, anywhere! Actually just did it a little while ago, sitting on the sofa drinking my tea one minute then looking like I'd wet myself the next 😩😳I think sleep or lack of is a big issue in Fibromyalgia, it certainly is in mine
Hi, I have very similar issues as u. I have been fighting them for over 30 years and can understand your problems and your pain. But I also have so many other medical illnesses too and they have added to it! Do u suffer from any other illnesses? Do u have M.E.? That can be responsible for sleep issues too! I also have Sleep Apnea, have u been tested for that? It may be worth asking your doctor about it. I have a CPAP machine to use at nights for it,it might help u. Good luck, I know it won't take it all away, but hopefully you may be able to get some help to reduce your problems and pain,I really hope so. Have a Very Happy Festive Season and a much Healthier New Year I hope! P x
hi
Yes fibro can lower iron levels, as well as heavy cycles.
there can be a co exist of chronic fatigue syndrome,
asking for a ferrous blood test.
sleep wise Was like that as well, they tried me on many mind calmers including zop something, i came off them all due to not working. cold turkey not great several times with each change of med.
the only thing that does work for me to sleep is a allergy medication elxir promethazine 5mg at 5pm while does not put to sleep once asleep keeps me there. i found higher mg made me groggy in morning.
have a chat with your gp
i am so sorry, insomnia is very common with fibro patients. In many countries hypnotics like ambien are prescribed to cope with this problem but unfortunately is not the case in the UK. Amitriptyline could be an option but is not always well tolerated. All the best
