insomnia is getting too much

i havent had a full nights sleep in weeks now. Its 0840 and ive been awake since 4am. Its not even so much painsomnia - the pain never gets better, but it hasnt been stopping me sleeping, I wake up after a few hours and then im just… awake. And then i lie there for hours and hours and hours until i get fed up and just start my day. And of course, with that comes the increase in pain and exhaustion the day after. Ugh ive just had enough of it now.

I’m def going to ask for an increase in my duloxetine! Im on 60mg just now and its great for the cognitive side of things and the pain but its not helping with the insomnia anymore 😫 ive been doing light yoga when i can too, but im so exhausted that its hard to get the motivation to do anything xx

Hi 👋 I take zoplcone 1/2 tablet at night only when my sleep is terrible as they are addictive .

Antripline is used to sleep 😴 as well as pain ?

All the best :)

yeah i was on ami for a while and it worked really well! It wore off after a bit but the increases were fine, it didn’t help my pain as much which the duloxetine does so thats why im on duloxetine. It has been working so far! I’ve also got a migraine preventative and an antihistamine that are supposed to work to knock me out but its just not working anymore. I have had zopiclone before too for short term use and it did help! I think if this continues I’m going to get a triage appointment with my GP because i cant do this anymore i can barely function

Hi. Sympathise with yr lack of sleep. I'm just the same ... It's becoming a serious problem after so long amitriptyline gave me a awful side effect so stopped that. Now I'm taking gummies per night and Glucosamine during day ( my daughter bought from health shop) had no obvious difference in pain or sleep as yet but promised I would finish the supply . Anyone take these Gummies ? I'm just experimenting but abit dubious ... At least they are not like the pills in the past drs have prescribed with side effects .

Hey I was all over the place with sleep for a long while until I tried hrt not saying you have menopause or perimenopause but have you considered it? I am 42 and am perimenopausal the utrogestion sends me right off every night at forst it knocked me out cold for a while not its not as string but still helps. Might be worth looking at to see Dr Louise newsom podcasts are great for information and advice. Either way I hope you get sorted and get some sleep x

I am experiencing the same problem with sleep. I am so exhausted that I have to go to bed around 9 pm and am asleep in seconds. Wake at 1 or2 and can’t get back to sleep. I end up taking half a zoplcone , after a few hours of failing to get back to sleep . I will try duloxetine if my doctor will prescribe. Hope you find something that helps you BlueZero. Take care

Fatigue is one of my main problems. I take 50mg of Amitriptyline every night so at least I sleep. Not always very good quality sleep but it beats lying awake for hours and hours! ❤️

Hi, I’m on 120mg of duloxetine and it doesn’t help with sleep.

I find taking 2 melatonin gummies helps and also a bed routine that involves a warm bath, then using a meditation app for sleep. I also use Vicks vapour rub on my feet and legs to help with the restlessness, and my weighted blanket. If I’ve really overdone things through the day, then sometimes it doesn’t always work, but 8-9/10 it does.

Hope you find something that works, as constant insomnia is not fun xx

Good luck x

Ooooh! vicks vapour rub. Not heard of that one. Have always liked vick. Will give it a try. Thanks. Legs not restless anymore but feet and palms feel swollen though they are not. I take a teaspoon of inulin at night in water and that often helps get a better run of sleep even if I do wake up early. Helps gut. Have cellular cotton blanket right now. A bit like a weighted blanket. Good luck!

Awful isn't it. Actually can't remember a full night's sleep, or how it felt. I can fall asleep anywhere, and regularly do, but just can't stay asleep for any decent length of time. It's exhausting

Hi I went through a spell of that... waking early and not getting back to sleep.. . but since its been so hot I'm going to bed much later because I'm catching up on things I should have done during the day... that includes a bit a of pottering round the garden as its cooler late evenings. ... but I sleep better and I'm not waking halfway through.

I am like a granny to you and I had been suffering in the same way as you. My new doctor put me on Pregabalin and I hardly ever suffer from insomnia now - My sleep is now long, deep and refreshing. You could mention it to your doctor. A good remedy can change your quality of life.

I feel your pain, I have exactly the same problem, wake up at 3.00am, start my day, then struggle with more pain

Sleep - I forgot what really is. On my best week I make 21 hours of total sleep.

Can go for 3 days without closing my eyes, like this week - Monday 3h, Tuesday 3.5h, Wednesday and Thursday none, this night 4h.

And those are totals, because wake in the middle of.

It's driving me insane...

Tablets, tea's don't work ...

Headphones help, but forgetting what you are listening to is frustrating and I hate the noise sounds...

Not what you're looking for?
