Diet and Ayurvedic approaches to cure bloating and pain

hello , I have fibro, migraines, degenerating spine and osteoarthritis. I take Pregabalin max dose , duloxetine 80mg and amitryptiline 50mg. I lean to the right from the waist most mornings so I get nerve pain everywhere.

Pregabalin seems to cause bloating and well get gain. I am medically aware. Due to difficulties losing weight and bowel issues probably caused by my lack of exercise, which I attempt when I can , I have my ear to the ground for any semblance of relief.

I noticed a book on kindle which is called Prime. I am not working for anyone and was training to be a Radiotherapist when I became ill.

I’m open to anything and have started the first part of Prime. I have already lost a stone in weight by only eating within a small window of time, fasting for 16 hours a day whilst drinking lots of water. This book makes an awful lot of sense to me and is an easy read because the western trained neurologist is very well read and open minded. The ancient Ayurvedic way believes that healing starts with the bowel.

Does anyone else have any success stories re Ayurvedic medicine ?

Glad you are drinking plenty of water along the way.😃

I don't know about Ayurvedic medicine, sorry, but it does seem to be that we need to understand more about what's called the Gut-brain-axis, & think about our diet.

There's growing scientific knowledge about the importance of the Gut-brain-axis as illustrated here: youtu.be/h29VidZIkn8 altho this is from a conference about a different condition (Chiari Malformation) it's (fairly) easy to understand, & note fibro, whilst not mentioned, is shown on one of the slides at about 20.20 mins.

Anyway, congratulations on your weight loss

hi! Thank you soo much for this, my uncle has Parkinson’s and my Mum dementia, it makes a great deal of sense to me also with my chronic inflammation, let’s hope with changes to our diet including getting rid of our microwaves, can helps us all! Thanks again

best to avoid meds if you can they just pump further toxins into the body , the kidney`s already on overload having to deal with toxins because of fibro , toxins cause inflammation , inflammation causes pain

hi , yes, great point re meds, I am aware of this issue but can’t remove my meds yet, too much pain although I did try to reduce my Pregabalin, I did shave a third of dosage off but a month later was overwhelmed with pain. I’m hoping that once I start the first step of my Ayurvedic prime I will feel better an more capable of lowering my dose. 😊🙏🙏

Hi,I have been suffering horribly. I was swimming a km plus every morning and keto but putting on weight and making everything worse with fibro. All doctors i saw for the last 20 years insisted I was eating too much and not doing enough exercise. Some said it was genetic, meanwhile I kept piling on. Now I am in Germany. One doctor just looked at me and said Insulin resistance, told me to fast and stay away from foods that cause inflammation, and prepare for this, a high fat keto. I eat once a day, I still swim as much, my life is getting much better. But before anyone jumps on this, I am not recommending this to anyone on the forum. I am just sharingwhat is happeningto me.

that’s great news that a dietary change has improved your life, I eat once a day already but I binge on biscuits and chocolate, it almost feels like my body is craving these things out of need. It’s only since I’ve had fibromyalgia and meds that I have felt this need. I am completely different to how I’ve been all my life. X

thanks for the video!

my husband is diabetic and obese.I have eventually got him to talk to a dietician.

Suprise the low carbohydrate foods are recommended and all sugar removed.

I live with Fibromyalgia and am mostly eating what he does.

I have noticed less bloating already in less than a month.

Odd about the kidney issues on video as my damaged kidneys should have bounced back after a huge infection but resist going above 47% so........I drink lots of plain water.
