I believe that I have had Fibromyalgia for many years. I got completely exhausted during the pandemic as we were very short staffed and it was full on. Stressful times for everyone. I had worked for the NHS for 36 years. Eventually I was forced to take some time off sick as I was so exhausted that I couldn’t function! I thought a few days rest & I’d be fine! Not so! Fast forward two years & I have never been back to work, I was eventually pensioned off on I’ll health grounds, having eventually been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I also have not been able to drive during this time. Life is nothing like it used to be or how I had envisaged my retirement to be!! However, I have several friends who have terminal diagnosis, so I count my blessings there! I have learned to avoid lifting & carrying anything at all, as this triggers my Chronic Costochondtitis, that was diagnosed in 2014 & I have now learned is part of my Fibromyalgia. This condition is so limiting but I know that it could be worse! My house is a mess because everything is such a struggle! Energy levels are so low & pain prevents me much of the time. If I could get back to driving it would open my world up again , but finding this site has opened a new world for me too, so thank you!

Hell o and welcome, yes I ve found the forum very helpful over the last few years too come and have a chat and read posts, yes it’s heart breaking as it’s not what we thought it would be at this age , and sad too read when friends/family have been diagnosed with terminal illness. I don’t drive as much now just local and when I feel I can, I try and section my bungalow off into rooms and do do what I can each day , but there will always be hard days when it’s dinner and the washing up and very limited as too what I can do😏 I say too my best friend there’s no petrol in the tank today. Xx

Hi there, I think you may be trying to reply to someone on another post? To reply to any post it is always best to reply to them on the original post 😊

That will ensure they see your reply to them and make more sense to other members, rather than a stand alone post. So with that in mind I will go ahead and turn off replies to this post.
