I too was sent for physio before my diagnosis he didn't touch me,ok COVID was still going on,but after 2 sessions he gave me some exercises to do then I was told I've signed you off,his exact words were there's' nothing fundamentally wrong with you!' Well he certainly got that wrong!

I know how you feel, physio just kept giving me exercises then signed me off even tho I was still suffering from the pains I went there for. Basically no use at all.

Yep...my physio said my hip pain was fibro ....he didn't care that I could tell the difference....a while later had a steroid injection in hip which ended that particular pain....wanted to find him and say neh neh nehy ney! Won't be going back to him, if necessary will request someone else!

I feel your pain my physio was the same I gave out and they went through exercises a few times with me that was it but they do help when in a flare up to like loosen things out again if that makes sense. Good luck I hope you get some relief soon x

Ditto went to a physio, had two hour appointment she did nothing ,except write on a chart where my pain was and then basically gave me exercise and fobbed me of onto another physio ,she said she could not help or understand why pain has a mind of it own ,eg pain is ok one day and the next day it’s like hell on earth .

I would be in real trouble without my physio. No she can’t take the pain away, but she does keep my body moving.

During lockdown I couldn’t see her and was rubbish at doing exercise by myself. I completely seized up and the pain and impact on my life was dreadful.

Started seeing her again about a year ago and the difference in that time has been huge, despite my arthritis getting worse. This in turn has also helped my mental health.

She completely gets fibro, so I do think it’s a case of finding the right physio. They really do have a huge knowledge of how the body works.

That's great if it works for you, I exercise most mornings just via YouTube on the TV, even if it's just the walking workouts helps me loosen and feel more upbeat.

Physios and me just do not get on. Saw one when first diagnosed who told my gp I was suicidal. I was not. Promised hydrotherapy and occupation health support which never happened. A few exercises and mindfulness . Saw another physio some years later for pain around my shoulderblade advised to move more. Diagnose with RA 2 years ago and when I saw the physio, it took some months, she spent an hour without touching me, and did not notice that I could barely move my neck and s houlders to see her but spent the whole time going on about mindfulness. I seems very little can be done physically for fibro but surely RA can be helped? My rheumatologists comment was, it doesn't work for everyone.

I now visit an osteopath wh ich has helped.
