Late PIP payment

Hello

My PIP payment is late by over two weeks. Tried contacting PIP to find out what's the reason behind this but the call ends unexpectedly or the PIP representative hangs up on me - not the first time.

Has anyone else experienced late payment in the last few months?

Ring them for clarification

Check your original PIP documentation usually lasts for 2 or 3 years from the start and then you need a review. It's possible the request for review has either not arrived or they are still short of staff to do it so it has triggered a stop on the payments. You do need to speak to them though. Just checked my bank and my normal payments have gone through the last 2 months.

If anything is wrong they should tell you, its disgusting, they hung up on you, I'd go to the CAB, they have always helped me,

Thank you so much for your kind replies. Finally managed to get a very helpful person on the phone from PIP.

The reason why my payment was stopped is that I made my husband an appointee when I lodged a tribunal appeal online (I am disputing not getting the right level of PIP). I wanted that both him and I to be able to deal with my PIP claim, as DWP ignored my consent letter and refused to talk to my husband when I wasn't well to ring them.

I had no idea that if you make someone an appointee the payments will stop until DWP assesses that person to ensure he/she can deal with them on your behalf... did not see this information anywhere.

Furthermore, the PIP representative told me he cannot no longer talk to me because I requested my husband to be an appointee. After I told him I made a mistake and did not read the legal definition of "appointee", he was kind enough to reverse my request and told us we can both deal with my claim now. Payment was also made into my bank account.
