Hi, Sorry to hear of your suffering. As regard to nerve testing, which is a non invasive test which is a good indicator of which nerves are causing you pain, so appropriate, treatments can be offered/given. I hope you get some relief soon.

I’ve had the nerve conduction tests for similar upper limb issues, after years of back problems. They showed chronic neurogenic changes stemming from neck and lower back. No carpal tunnel, which GP suggested initially. I’m on meds but pain is quite hard to bear. Has also been put down to fibro. I hope your tests give you some clarity and you can move forward. You might want to ask about amitriptyline and or pregabalin if you aren’t on these already. X

Thanx Maria, had three consecutive nights with very little sleep due to arm pain, had carpel surgery three years ago on left hand but have scar tissue which is not helping, ime guessing due to my long term back problems it ain't helping! As far as meds are concerned I think I have tried them all, currently on pregablin and codeine but not touching it,only drug that has ever give me relief is morphine but gp won't prescribe unless you are recovering from surgery!I'm 65 and feel in a bad place at the moment, was looking forward to retiring soon but just can't get around!Sorry about rambling on but feel very down!Thanx again!

I'm so sorry you're in so much pain. Really hope you can get some sleep and perhaps some other medication that works! Sending many healing thoughts x
