I am really struggling with getting motivated these days I'll go to bed with ideas for following day but when the day comes everything goes out the window it has got worse since covid I used to walk miles but now struggle going to local shops

Motivation!!!
I totally understand, I do the same! What we all would give for a dose of energy 🤪x
For my walk, I signed up a friend to do it together twice a week at fixed days and time. This way no excuses to not get out to walk no matter how lazy I feel.
I think we all go through that , especially if we end up suffering from insomnia , then we are too tired to do any of the things we wanted to by morning. When I was young , I used to laugh with my OH about the list that his mother would pin on the fridge . It included her ' To Do List ' but it began :
Get Up
Go to Bathroom
Breakfast
Get Dressed
At the time it seemed pretty obvious things to include.
Now I have the same list myself , although Take Meds comes in at Number 3.
I read an article once that said to stop getting demotivated by a huge list of jobs you should put the quickest tasks at the top and you should think you have had a productive day if you can tick the first three things off your ' To Do List'.
Well , with my list , I can accomplish that and tick off more than three things before I even get dressed!
It means that even if I'm having a really bad day and can't manage to get out of my pyjamas I can still say I have had a productive day .
Those ticks are a way I can keep positive , and quite often motivate me on the good days to see if I can manage to tick off a couple more.
I'm sure you will find your motivation soon , but don't feel bad or guilty if it takes you time to get there , even Angels walked with tiny footsteps until they learned to fly.
Hugs , Bee
Hi Alison I also do the same thing. It really gets me down but even if I manage a half decent night's sleep I feel exhausted. I went out today as it was my granddaughters birthday party sometimes if I do get out it can make me feel a little bit better.
Good luck x
Yes I’m the same. Lots of good intentions but no action
I hear you Alison! I try to plan just one thing for the next day if it's really essential to do.. and then park the rest for another day. And if I cannot do it that day, I know I will try and do it the next day. Try not to beat yourself up about it... As you can see here in your responses, you're not alone in your struggle. We can do it! I do find if I at least start to do the thing I'm meant to do - ie today is a much needed hoover round.. then I keep at it, with little breaks, and lots of water(!) until I've done it. I might be in a lot of pain and exhausted during and after, needing to really relax... but I know that's done for a while! The satisfaction is overwhelmingly good. Hope that helps... Best wishes D
Thank you for all the responses I need to stop beating myself up if I don't do what I set out to do I think half my mornings are already spoken for getting up/getting shower/getting dressed/running bath for son who I am carer for/helping him to bath/giving him shave/helping him to get dressed/making breakfast. Some mornings it feels like I've done a full day already so anything else gets put on back burner
That sounds like a lot and a full day of effort!!Congratulate yourself !!!However you don't say whether caring for yr son is demanding or not? I can't imagine having someone dependent on my energy...
This must b very hard for you?
I would recommend you rest more after the activities above...
I hv to rest after every physical activity but then decide on a sedentary task like accounts/e-mail writing... to make me feel a tad more productive!
Good luck Alison61... xxx
it's okay do one thing.
I just walked round the block and I'm wheezing! Don't beat yourself up, we all feel like that. Take care xx
