Help or advice please
Hey it depends. Did you overdo something in the last couple of days and now it’s bad today? Or have you not done anything really at all? Also are you on any meds for the pain? X
Not done anything different really, I am on naproxen, amitryptiline and butrans patches but these were prescribed for a shoulder problem now Dr has told me to come off them and I'm halfway through coming off them. X
Id see the GP again really. Those meds for a start are not great. But it depends what they’re prescribed for. Is it just Fibro you have or spinal or something else too? Back and leg pain is usually spinal but can be Fibro related too. It’s tricky sometimes x
Yes the dr has explained this to me. I was given them for shoulder pain as I've had loads of operations and they've not worked, I don't want to be on them so Dr explained I ha e to come off them gradually. He Increased my amitryptiline last week to 50mg. I have been referred to muscoskeletal last week but I guess I will be waiting months.
Also you can get withdrawal coming off meds. Can you swim at all? Sometimes a little relaxing swim and hot tub after helps a lot x
I'm going back to Drs next Tuesday because I do t think everything has been explained to me. I can't really swim.
Aw yeah I hear you. I’ve not been able to
For a few years now. Hope you get on ok at the doctors x
Hi hun- about the swimming- ask your g.p if he can get you some hydrotherapy, you dont need to be a swimmer, its 35 degree pool and a qualified physio starts you with a programme of excercise which are so much easier to do in water,, cold swimming pools I would say No!
Hi I've been in one before for my shoulders but it made it alot worse. I will just have to wait and see what the specialist says she I get an appointment.
I have to say I agree with you, if i stay in bed I get worse and find getting mobile again very hard. moving and stretching is the best for sore muscles, after seeing a physio in the big city hospital instead of locally, I have been advised to try to go out for a walk starting with to the bottom of the footpath,, today I got to the corner shop and back. I started this physio on Jan 10th just pacing is important.
Been for a walk not been far, will see how I am later.
It's really good to hear that it's worked out for you in some aspects. I'm going to take things slowly, come off these butrans patches and try and have a little walk each day.
I have to apply a spray before I put the patche's on because they burnt me too
