Morning all. My ssp runs out next month and I'm still not well enough to return to my job. The uc people sent me paperwork in December to be assessed for lcwra. I sent it back second week of January. I haven't heard anything yet. With my ssp running out I'm obviously getting concerned. My finances hit rock bottom when I went off in October and I've had to apply for bankruptcy as my outgoings were so high and being off has crippled me financially being that i live alone with my 2 children. Its been the worst few months ever. Stress is only making my fibro and anxiety worse. I digress......my question is, how long did the process of claiming lcwra take for others and what was it like? Thanks all. Xxxx

Lcwra
Hi there, I'm sorry I don't know what Lcwra is. Hopefully someone will know and be able to help answer your question.
Weekends on the forum do tend to be more quieter I'm afraid. But hopefully someone will come on and reply.

I googled it (lol) it means limited capability for work related activity! If u claim universal credit and are off sick a certain amount of time they refer you to have an interview and do paperwork to be awarded extra money whilst you're not at work. They didn't give me any choice. Just told me to fill in the paperwork and return it and I didn't think much about it until now xx
Have you considered applying for PIP? Whilst it’s not a quick financial fix even if you are successful, it takes months to get assessed and further few months for the report to be processed (mine was 6 months altogether) it is backdated to the date of application. It’s worth a minimum of £60 a week, can be £90 plus more if you also get the mobility element. Plus it’s not means tested.
I have applied. Did that in March. Thank you xx
Hi noob 35, it varys it can take between 1 and 2 years you have to keep calling them it does get bk dated if you do get it
