Highly recommend speaking to Remploy.

Might be worth asking for occupational health assessment. Once their report is in then the reasonable adjustments can be put in place to help you return. Your employers should be using occupational health in this way as standard good practice. They should not be asking you what you can do but relying on the report to recommend a return to work schedule. Their HR department should be pro-active in helping you return otherwise they leave themselves wide open to constructive dismissal claim.

I agree if the supermarket you work for is Tes**, they need to contact OH to come out to see you you can have this first meeting with oh privately on your own or with a work colleague friend or family member for support. They will ask you about how you are feeling how you are managing how you cope what might help you. They will then write up a report and sent to area manager? Who will then relay to store manager/your work supporter who will then arrange another meeting with you and either store/line manager and you can ask oh to be present too I think in moving forward how to support you at work/or continued sick time off depending how long you have been their. Your oh will advice your employer how to support you. They may be able to apply for any records from dr hospital physiotherapy for referrals ect or past appointments you have attended. But they must request this from you first for permission to contact above and you will need to give consent if you wish them to investigate further. The more info they have is better for you as proof how you have been affected and what you can and cannot do. If you are in tes** join up to USDA and contact them who have now recognised Fibromyalgia as a disability and the effects this can have on your welfare mobile and aids to help you in the workforce... best off luck... I fought this through test as my dept manager on tills was telling me to quit leave my job of return to work. If you are unable to carry on working in the same role they should offer you to work in something different which you can manage or they need to let you go....best off luck sorry no sentences comma or full stop capital letter but I have been up again all night...if they want you to leave and quit tell them no they will have to let you go on medical grounds instead as if you just quit it is a nightmare money wise if between jobs or still sick later on after you have left via terminating contract due to I'll health that will then cover you where it will be easier for you to get help. From job centre

Exactly right Crystal - I work in HR for one of the big 4 and that is exactly what should be happening 😊

Hi Nicjy, I also work in retail for a supermarket and have been diagnosed with FMA, CFS, and FND, Also suffer with Syncope (low blood pressure which causes me to faint) Also have asthma. I have had quite a bit of time off sick and was told last week that they are looking into fitness to work and could terminate my contract if successful. I have had OH reports and things have been put into place. Also reduced my days and hours. I am terrified that I will lose my job and have no income to live on. It’s a scary time but what else can We do when we get poorly?! 😔🙄😮 also this is my first post! 👍
