I am wondering if anyone can help me iv been off work since 2014 I was having numerous ops and diagnosed with fibro.... I was placed in a supported esa group .... My problem is I'm still sending in sick notes , have to ring in to work every Monday regardless of the sick notes i have seen occ health a number of times and had numerous meetings at work .... The stress of all this is getting me down which then makes my pain worse as u are all aware.... I just wanted to know if I resign on ill health grounds would I still recieve the esa (supported group) will it continue?
I really want to return to my job and mentioned I would like only 2 mornings a week but as you all know with fibro you cannot commit 2 said days as pain is the problem.
So can I resign and continue getting esa will it just follow on or will I lose it and have to start again .....this has been going on since 2014 and I'm at the end of my tether , also suffer depression and ADHD .... Please can someone advise me as I can't take the stress anymore
Thanks in advance I'm just soooo worried

can I suggest that you get in touch with FMA UK benefits advisor Janet Horton on 0300 999 0055 (Mon & Fri 10.00-12.00) or by email on benefitsadvice@fmauk.org - she may be able to answer your questions or signpost you in the right direction.
Alternatively, contact your local CAB or welfare rights office.

Hello @Jo-lee69 I retired on ill health grounds last year from NHS, I needed my union rep with me at every meeting to ensure I got a fair deal, I managed after a fight to get a lump sum pension and a small monthly income, plus I get ESA support with my N.I contr paid until 2020 when I can draw gov. pension..and PIP. I wouldnt resign hun- if you can find our Janet on the forum who helps with benefits she will help you greatly otherwise I used a local Welfare Rights Officer at CAB she was really good.
I am sorry you have been though such a tough time Jo. My situation was slightly different to yours as I was self-employed so I didn't have to resign as such but I had to stop work because of my condition. I subsequently applied for ESA and I was awarded contribution based ESA for 12 mths. The fact that I had voluntarily stopped work did not prevent me getting it and I just had to send the DWP sick notes form my GP. However as already suggested I would check exactly where you stand with Janet and/or CAB before you make any major decisions. In the meantime welcome to the forum, I am sure you will find it as friendly and supportive as I do. Good luck and take care lovely.xxx
Sorry I don't know that much about this, but if you ring ACAS they are all trained and specialize in this kind of thing and hopefully should be able to give you some help xxx
It's such a stressful time when youre in aaw fight both work and I'll health. I have had a on off relationship with work for several years, been finished due to ill health in my last two jobs. I haven't worked now since Feb this year and I am currently attempting to get my NHS pension..which involves disputing my award...back to stress again! I am now at a point of financially needing to find work again as the benefits which I am currently in receipt of don't cover my outgoings, I wish I had asked for help and support when I started its journey...well done Hidden on getting the suport you needed to help you get your pension. Gentle hugs to all ☆
