Has anyone experienced withdrawal from dulexatine and if so what symptoms did you have
OMG yes, it was awful. I had the shakes, shivering, headaches and panic attacks. Took me 6 weeks to get to any kind of normal.I would not recommend It to anyone. I tell people to avoid it if possible.
Yes it was one of the worst experiences of my life. I was shaking & shivering, flu like symptoms, felt panicky, headaches & electric shocks going through my body. It lasted probably 6-8 weeks until I felt ok again. It was honestly so bad 😢
Hello , is the doctor gradually tapering you off from duloxtene ? I hope your symptoms settle down very soon x
I’m in my third *year* of tapering off of 30mg daily. In my PERSONAL EXPERIENCE (I’M *NOT* MEDICALLY TRAINED): each time I reduce the dosage (every couple months or so by 3% - 5%) I experience either the same or changed side effects. They can include those mentioned above, or others. Each reduction means a varied adjustment time. I call it poison … I took it for almost 8 years (for pain), before realizing the drug itself was causing more harm than good. I have experienced insomnia, restless legs, migraines, and rage, plus emotional issues I did not have before ~ to mention a few.I researched online about tapering off Duloxetine, or “Cymbalta” (Eli Lilly) before generic Duloxetine. I found that if you rush, symptoms can diminish, but return in full force much later. Many, many patients feel the negative effects of Duloxetine, but a very slow withdrawal is the least harmful way to stop.
AND … I’m fortunate to have a compassionate doctor who continues prescribing so I *can* taper. Many refuse to help …..
Yes. I have been on duloxetine for about 8 years now. I have tried several times to come off it but had horrendous withdrawal side effects. Had brain zaps - like a buzzing in my head that I could both feel and hear. Also a feeling like I could feel the messages from my brain to my feet with every step I took, it is a hard feeling to describe. The first time I tried to come off them was after I had been on them for a couple of months and Gp wanted to try a different med. I had to phone Gp and ask to be put back on them. It is quite common to have bad withdrawal from duloxetine. If you are in the USA you can be prescribed it in liquid form which is easier to taper down, but even then it can take a long time to come off. Liquid duloxetine cannot be prescribed here in the UK, my Gp tried to get it for me but wasn't allowed. I tried to go cold turkey one time but only lasted 4 days so I think I am stuck with it. I now take duloxetine and Pregabalin which seems to help a bit when taken together. Hope this helps.
