Hi, my GP's have finally diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia After about 12 years being pushed from pillar to post. I have lost my appetite which is unusual for me as I can eat a horse or more normally. Has anyone else suffered with this. I know were all different

If the loss of appetite is a recent thing, it is best to mention to your gp. Pain and fatigue can affect how we feel and our appetite but if you have had fibro symptoms for 12 years with no loss of appetite, it should be checked out

Hi Plug01,I’m very up and down with my eating. Some days I hardly feel any appetite and then other days I eat plenty. I have a stock of ice cream for the days when I don’t want much. Keeps my energy up.

If you've been put on duloxetine for your fibro then one of the side effects can be suppression of appetite - personally, I'm happy with this as I've managed to slowly lose 2.5 stones in weight since being diagnosed. Check any changes in meds.

Having said that, as a nation, we are all rather fixated with eating set meals at set times - listen to your body and eat when you are hungry but try to eat fresh if you can and good quality protein, fat, & carb balanced meals (pending allergies of course)... so for me, I'm afraid the ice cream would be just a treat - take a look at the sugar content 😉😉😉

Can be a sign of Pancreas issues? as with that and Gall Bladder etc/area as i feel full like just had dinner

GI problems goes along with fibromyalgia. I’ve had fibromyalgia for 30yrs and my stomach acts up from time to time. I have had severe stomach problems that it would be a burning 🔥 in the bit of my stomach which brings nausea and misery back from 98-00 I could only eat bland foods. I lost 25lbs during that period got the diagnosis of gastroperisis, GERD, gastritis, 3 ulcers with H-pylori, then in 2000 saw a new GI doctor with a fresh pair of eyes who did and endoscopy and saw stomach tissue secreting stomach in the bottom of my esophagus. Also during that time was told that both sphincter muscles at both ends of my stomach weren’t working right letting bile into the stomach and gastric acid up into the esophagus back in 98. In 2000 the new GI doctor prescribed Protonix and that allowed me to eat again. Occasionally my stomach will act up if I eat onions or eat something that is a little too spicy 🌶 will set it off and I have to take 2-4 bites of ice cream to put out the fire in my stomach. Today my lunch was a little to spicy and had to eat some ice cream 🍦 and it still isn’t settled down all the way. If you are in major discomfort you would need to see a GI doctor.

Similar to what others have suggested I'd check your med side effects, praps get your hormones checked, hidden depression, and praps try out different diets, or even something as radical as intermittent fasting, if you're not eating anyway...?
