Dry mouth and thirsty all the time
Hi Littlemo, I have this too. I think it is a side effect of medication but it is also a symptom of fibro. I take sips of water all the time at home. When out of the house I chew gum. But it is so annoying as it makes talking difficult. Take care of yourself.David
Hi there, nice to meet you. I was wondering have you been checked for diabetes? Thirst is one of the signs of diabetes. Just a thought. It maybe a good idea to check it out with your GP xx

Hi Littlemo! I have very dry eyes, nose and mouth but have Rheumatoid Arthritis with Secondary Sjögren’s syndrome as well as fibro. I have Salivix pastilles which help with saliva production, Xerostom mouthwash and use Duraphat 5000 toothpaste, all recommended by my dentist and on prescription. I tried all the different sprays but they were not long lasting enough. I find I can put a pastille in my mouth & I can stick it to the roof of my mouth so it lasts longer. They’re sugar-free and taste better than sprays. If you’re taking Amitriptyline, that will make your dryness worse. Speak to your GP and if they don’t agree, your dentist should write to them. I also have more regular dental appointments too as lack of saliva can cause tooth decay. It’s pretty grim, isn’t it but this group can help when you’re feeling rough. Take care. Nic xx
Hi it could be a side effect of your meds. I get the same, and have a glass of water with very diluted fruit squash by my side all day at home, and then chew gum when out and about, also carry a bottle of water with me too. Mine is a side effect of an inhaler I take for my COPD and Amitriptyline that I take for Fibromyalgia.
Thanks for all the advise
