Morning, I take mebeverine which is a prescription from my GP, it helps with stomach pain but still gives me other symptoms.I will be interested to see what others suggest on here 🥰
I wouldnt take ibruphen with IBS that would make me worse. I do take buscapan it helps sometimes but not others, it's mainly avoiding certain foods for me.
Ibuprufen not a good idea as that can irritate the stomach. I take cocodamol but that can cause constipation so have to be very careful and have the low dose variety. Buscupan can help but one needs to avoid gassy foods. Can you work with a dietician as I'm sure your doctor can send you to one. I have fibromayalgia but also Coeliac disease so obviously gluen is deadly for me but also find other foods tend to give me stomach ache and upset tummy at times. Good old hot water bottle is good. Not too much coffee and decaf and likewise tea. Check things out with your doctor is best.
Bit late on this one, so I'll keep it short. But just in case you're still interested: IBS as the name says concerns the bowels, whilst a rumbling stomach I('d) attribute to (something like) hyperacidity (occasionally hypoacidity), which can also lead to GERD/reflux/heartburn. Both IBS & hyperacidity can be treated with an elimination diet. For hyperacidity everything sour, spicy, onion-like & minty might be a problem.
