Hi I have had fibromyalgia from last April. I have been experiencing lots of pain in my head like electric shocks recently. Has any one esle experienced this, should I speak to a doctor. Feel low at the moment always on the phone to the doctor but always get told it’s fibromyalgia.

welcome. You are on the phone regularly, so, yes, I would mention it. Sounds like something neurological but a Dr SHOULD be able to help. I get the feeling you're not convinced they are much help. Are you getting any specific help or do they simply keep saying "fibro" and leaving it at that?

Sorry that you are not 'in a good place' Fibro doesn;t get any better so the easiest thing is to find some coping stratergies to help you. I had a rubbish doctor who told me that there was nothing more to be done to help me. I moved doctor and I am now with a doctor that understands. Do phone, ask your doctor if he can prescribe some tablets to 'ease ' the nerve pains in your head ( I have been there and it is not very nice). Sometimes doctors can not relate to your pain as it is something that they have yet to understand. Good luck x

I think the problem is I can not get the same doctor to speak to always different each time. Just put it down to fibromyalgia.

Hello and welcome, I agree I would pursue another doctor is you feel this current one is not helpful, I also had a change of doctor and this one is interested in fibro, if the electric shocks are a recent thing you need some answers why this is happening, ask for a face to face appointment xx

Hi, I get brain zaps when I reduce my anti depressants and it is very unpleasant. I would definitely speak to your doctor, even if it's just for peace of mind.

I wonder if you are taking anti-depressants … ? “Brain zaps” are a “side effect” that have been reported as something that COULD result from such meds. either taking or while slowly reducing the dosage. I am NOT a medical professional ~ I am merely speaking from my own experience, and what I have heard from others … You should definitely CONSULT WITH YOUR DOCTOR/GROUP or seek medical treatment elsewhere regarding any such symptoms …. Too many things are blamed on FM without researching further …
