Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone experiences MS like symptoms? Weakness in arms and legs, internal tremors, emotional/mental issues. I almost have seizure like activity in my brain though I don’t have convulsions or anything. I had a Brain MRI 11 months ago. I had full blood work, head cat scan , urine test , endoscopy 2 months ago and it was fine. I’m 22 but can’t help but feel like there’s something more wrong with me! I think doctors just think I’m crazy/attention seeking now. I haven’t been able to work cause of the unpredictability of these symptoms. Some days I can still go big walks and go out with friends and others I’m bedbound. I have a lot of issues with my emotional/mental health now including irrational fears and outbursts of crying etc with depression. I know there are hundreds of fibromyalgia symptoms and it can affect anything in the body just wanted to know if anyone else can relate to this :)

Thanks if you read this far!

I sympathise with you, I definitely suffer from non epileptic seizures to the point of fainting, as well as literally wanting to pass out. My last symptom was last week. At the time I struggled to brush my teeth, the more I fought to stand on my feet the weaker I got. So ended up in bed without being able to brush my teeth. Had to stay in bed for 48 hours to recover from it.

What you say is real and it’s no fun getting this seizures and I agree with you a lot os our symptoms are similar to MS. I also get fever like symptoms and on Friday last week one of my fingers froze and turned into a funny shape. Each episode lasted for a few seconds . This finger is functional now but the pin and needles come and go 😢😢😢😢

In short I share your pain, I think some doctors underestimate the severity of our conditions.

Hope you are feeling better today xx

Thank you so much for your reply. I can relate exactly to what you’ve just said. I’ve never been diagnosed with NES but I know I don’t have epilepsy as I’m still aware during these episodes and i feel it in my brain and my pupils dilate like similar to panic attack without the body sensations and they only started since my FM diagnosis (it’s like your central nervous system is on overdrive) Sometimes my fingers and toes cramp up and freeze too or my hands go numb. Sorry you’re suffering also ☹️hope you are feeling ok today too xx

Hi yes I relate to this I was convinced I had MS as had every symptom but MRI ruled this out so I was given a fibromyalgia diagnosis. I do feel like I am going to pass out when I stand still I think it is postural hypotension in August I passed out in the restaurant on a cruise ship but all tests came back negative. I get the internal vibrations and the other symptoms for non epileptic seizures plus tinnitus! Take care

Morning, these symtoms must be overwhelming for you, I would differently try and go back to your surgery for an update, also mention your depression, crying and feeling scared, fibro can throw a lot our way but if these symptoms are fairly new I can understand how you must feel, it turned out I have CFS with my fibro and some days I couldn’t do anything with no energy, the two conditions can be very similar and I was diagnosed separately. Try and get a follow up appointment so doctor can see how you are doing. If you feel they are not listening can you take close family relative with you for support ? Xx

Dear CopingwithEx, I am sorry you are in pain. I have most of the symptoms above except black floaters - my sight becomes hazy and I get pain in the eyes, I have lower back pain instead, I don't have severe bruising and breathing problems are brought on by GERD. Everything else, we share. I don't have MS. Have a lovely day.

I can, but these symptoms you are describing are the symptoms I had when I was diagnosed with ME back in October 2007 but had been suffering since February 2006 after catching the flu Christmas 2005, 2012 I was diagnosed with Polymyalgia and in 2017 diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, all these illnesses tend to go hand in hand at some point.

If you’re not any better within 3 years of any of these ailments the chances of recovering is slim to nile.

I feel your pain, I couldn’t imagine being this poor at your age, I was was 37 when I first became poorly and it was a tough acceptance so I can only imagine what you must be feeling at 22.

Know your not alone and if you need to offload this is the place to shout out, we are a great source of a sounding board here 🤗

Hi! I was originally diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome after a miscarriage at 19/20 not knowing I was pregnant but I feel I’ve recovered from the fatigue. For me the fatigue is more more mental now than physical. And some days I feel great and can still do lots of things like paint the house or go a hill walk and others I can’t move. I’m really hoping I can still recover😓 I hope you can recover too! thank you for replying xx
