Fibromyalgia Friends

Hi Everyone, I've just joined, been suffering with Fibromyalgia for 15 years. I've had a three week flare up with pains on shoulders, spine, neck, below hips, and migraines. I've been to doctors today for a proper diagnosis, and she has taken bloods, and given me resources for self help. I need to get on a right path to get myself better, not just for me, but my family too. I know exercise has helped me in the past, I used to jog, but can't do that now. Hoping I can back into something, so I don't go through so much pain. Hope your all ok, I'm here to offer an advice too.

Hi Caspercat01 👋 I'm sorry you're going through a flare up at the moment. It's very difficult and painful. I hope you're coping. Have you tried any swimming for exercise and pain relief? I tried some sea swimming in August and really loved it. I would love to live by the sea. Best of luck to you with everything 🥰

Thank you for your reply. I'm coming out of my flare up now, and managing a little more now, but I know I mustn't overdo it and have another low, so I'm doing what I can each day, and leaving the rest. It's so important to know what you can and can't do. Little is more in the end. I was actually thinking of starting out swimming again, my brother is going to teach me how to breath under water with different strokes, so I don't get the neck strain and potential more pain, one step at a time.
