Hello everyone, over the past couple of months my symptoms have got really bad and I handed in my notice for one of my jobs as it meant me getting up at 5.30 which was unbearable due to lack of sleep and having pain and sickness every morning. I am self employed for 12 hours a week at the moment and trying to increase this but am finding 12 hours difficult. I am suffering from depression and anxiety and just don’t know what to do, any advice would be grateful Thankyou

Oh dear it does sound as if you are suffering. It’s a shame you resigned from your job as you were protected under the Equality Act 2010. This would have entitled you to seek reasonable adjustments to enable you to possibly stay in work with support. Anyway that’s water under the bridge now so let’s look at your options.Have a look at PIP benefits to see if you think you qualify- it’s not means tested and there are plenty of sites where you can fill in the forms to see how you might qualify. Also you could try and contact our benefits advisor on here. PIP forms can seem daunting so if you do apply get some help filling them in.
Now to how you are feeling have you spoken to your GP ? If not perhaps a chat with him/her might help. There are on line CBT courses or you can self refer to local ones that are face to face. A referral to the pain clinic may also help.
Do hope you find some relief soon.
Thankyou for your message, I am seeing my dr and have recently changed my medication, just started CBT and seeing the pain clinic. I have a universal credit appointment on Friday and really hope he or she is understanding as I am having a hard time accepting my condition and the changes I need to make. Take care.
Thankyou for that, I don’t feel very strong at the moment, will keep you posted x
