hi and a warm welcome to our community. Hopefully you will get some definite answers when you see the rheumatologist on 01/09/21. In the meantime, you can find general information on our website fmauk.org . Our patient information booklet can be found at fmauk.org/publications .

Hello, I am glad you have your appointment in the next few days, it’s tough with conditions even more with children, it’s good to come have a chat here, we can have a good moan, yell or scream and sometimes a good cry as we do understand when it all gets too much some days xx

Sorry to hear you are suffering from this condition but even sorrier for the 2 teenagers 😱. I found that age even harder than the terrible 2's haha

Welcome to Fibro club, the exclusive club nobody wants to join!

You will probably find the Rheumy will diagnose you and then refer you back to the GP.

In the mean time you could do some research.

First look up The Spoon Theory on the net, it will help you explain to rellies and friends how it makes you feel and why you have no energy left some days.

There are plenty of things on the Net about Fibro; some of the most useful ones can be found here or on Fibromyalgia Action UK

Have you had an Occupational Health assessment? It can be invaluable if you need aids to help you. You can self-refer through Social Services.

Teenagers can be devils or angels. I had one of each!

Good luck with your consultation.

Cheers Midori

I made a bit of a booboo there, I should have said Occupational Therapists, They can order and deliver aids like perching stools, shower stools or arrange rails to help you get up from the toilet, etc.
