Hi, I am looking for a medical specialist in or near London who specializes and researches in Fibromyalgia. If you have had any good, understanding, caring specialists who have been able to help you properly and give good advice, then I'd be truly grateful to hear about your journey and get the specialist's name/info. Many thanks.

If you have a diagnosis of fibro then Guys and St Thomas's fibro clinic could be of use to you. However, it's only one appointment but you will see several different people including physio, psychologist, rheumatologist etc. They will then advise a plan of action and send a report to your GP. I found it very constructive as my former GP refused to believe fibro existed. Took me 2 years to get a referral made, so if your GP is similar I suggest you make the request in writing and then follow it up with a telephone consult. That way the request will form part of your record and they cannot deny you ever made the request.
Thank you so much! This is very helpful. My GP is actually making my situation worse - she refuses to believe me or acknowledge my physical pain so this is very helpful.
There is the clinic that dinkie mentions, and also one at Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine
Both are NHS clinics and referral needs to be made via your gp.
Fibromyalgia is now being recognized as an autoimmune disease. Paper was recently released by University of Liverpool. Google it. If I can find it, I will post it here xxx
If private is OK, then you could try Chris Jenner, who writes recommendations for GPs, see here:
