Has anyone ever seen Chris Jenner in London? I have read good reviews and wondering whether to just pay to see someone who knows about this condition.

Yes! Chris is brilliant. Knowledgeable, kind, empathetic and takes you seriously. He also provides a plan of action and works with your GP to deliver it. Worth every penny in my view.
Hi
I was thinking about making a video appointment with him as well butI I live outside London so wonder if its worth it if I cannot attend treatments in his clinic in London x
When I saw him, he didn’t even need to examine me to see what was going on. So we didn’t really need to be face to face. I think video would be absolutely fine.
He was actually offering video and phone consults waaaaay before Covid, so he’s used to working this way. I would happily see him this way.
Hope that helps! x
Was it mainly a plan involving drugs? Did you just see him once? Did he diagnose fibromyalgia. I’m still unsure if I actually have it but seem to tick a lot of boxes! I don’t live in London but am close enough to visit him when it is possible again.
Yes, he diagnosed me - after me struggling to get the NHS to listen (I have rheumatoid arthritis and kept being told it was all due to that). I saw him once for the diagnosis and plan, and once for a follow up. This was 2018. I’ve been back a few times since to talk about issues and tweak the plan.
He is big on a holistic approach - not just meds. So managing stress and doing exercise are key for him. He did also refer me to an amazing physiotherapist who he works with - I have been seeing her maybe once every 3 months (it’s private and expensive but she’s FANTASTIC).
Chris also often recommends some psychological treatment. Help coming to terms with how fibro changes your life and also managing the mental side of pain. I didn’t go down that route, but it’s an option.
Honestly I would not hesitate in recommending him. You could not ask for someone better and I was so happy I found him!
Thank you. That is so helpful to know. The reviews of his physio did seem especially good. I find I just end up often feeling worse after physio at the moment.
There are also 2 nhs fibromyalgia clinics in London. One at Guys & St Thomas, the other at the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine. You gp can refer you
Does anyone see a pain specialist in the North East of England that they can recommend, private or NHS ? Thank you
I have an appointment with the Pain Management Clinic on 6th April. I am hoping they will be able to help as I am unable to take a lot of pain meds due to kidney disease and side effects. There is also a clinic based at the RVI. Both are NHS and would need a referral from your gp.
Thank you very much for that information. My daughter has moved over from Cumbria and has her first appt with her new GP this week. This knowledge will give her the confidence to ask for a referral. I hope your appointment goes well.
Sorry I should have said my appointment is with the Ashington team in Northumberland. It depends on where your daughter lives but Newcastle may be closer for her. I hope her new gp is sympathetic and she gets a referral.
I Would absolutely recommend Chris Jenner to anyone thinking of getting in touch with him. Yes it costs, but when you’ve been going to your GP for years and getting nowhere and your pain levels are such that your life is one long battle, find the money from somewhere, beg, borrow, steal! It will be an investment in your health and well being in the long term, he will keep working with you, tweaking the medication if necessary until it works for you, my pain is massively reduced since I have been under his care. Also, very importantly - do not underestimate the sway of the diagnosis of a Harley St consultant when dealing with PIP applications etc., Those letters are powerful supporting documents!
