I have found that stress makes my fibromyalgia worse. I don't think it was the cause of my fibro though. And I have had surgeries that were very scary but not any revisions.
I can see your stress rising higher with multiple surgeries and revisions. And fatigue can be a part of fibro. Try to meditate or just listen to music you love. Watch a good movie. Take a long soaking bath for stress relief and to help with muscle aches and pains. Use Epsom salt (Magnesium sulfate) in your bath water. I'd say take a nice walk around the park but I understand the knee pain would interfere with that. I've had family members who have had knee replacements. Mine are bad but not in need of replacing.
Were you ever in any car wrecks when you were younger? Sports injuries? Aches in your body that never seem to clear up? Ever lose track of your thoughts or have a hard time remembering how to do usual tasks? Problems keeping your thoughts in your head to fix a problem that you have to focus on? This last one is called brain fog to fibro patients. I get it all the time.
There are a ton of things that I feel could trigger fibro. I've had 20 years of dealing with this. It started with a car accident in 2001 when I was rear-ended on my way to work. I think it was about 2006-07 before my doctor diagnosed my fibromyalgia. Since then I've been on several different combinations of medications to ease the symptoms. And hopefully these will slow, or even stop the progression of this disease. Find a doctor you are comfortable with. But if your current doctor says that you "have fibromyalgia due to all the stress on (your) body," I feel that means he acknowledges you have fibro. That's the biggest battle: getting a doctor to say you have it. Now let him treat you for the symptoms if you believe in using medications to fight off the symptoms. OR do whatever homeopathic methods that help you.
Hang in there. Keep fighting and try to be gentle on yourself when doing things. A 20 minute chore might be okay on you. But a 1 hour task could make you hurt for days. Start things slow and increase the effort to find your tolerance level. I always forget and do stupid things for 2 hours (like working on my truck window on Sunday) and hating the pain for 3-4 days.
Thank you so must for you kind words I will try that .l was working full time has a renal nurse but doing just 16hrs now .but thank you so much Renal22
I still work full time but I hate my job. I had surgery on my skull in July and I have problems with words and tasks due to some minor brain issues and of course my Fibro fog. Can't forget that. Confusion and speaking was bad before surgery but twice as bad after. I want to quit but I need the job.
Hi Renal22 I have had fibromyalgia for nearly 3 yrs . I had a fall and broke my ankle. And about 6months later the pain started. I had a friend that has had fibromyalgia for years and she came to see me and after telling her how bad i felt she said that she was certain that I had it as well. So saw my doc who is amazing and she agreed that she thought it was fibr o . She referred me to hospital and yes it was fibro. Hope you get sorted soon.
