Hi everyone. I’m 20 years old and currently studying at university and for the next week my flat mates have left. I got diagnosed with fibro 3 years ago.
I’ve never been in as much pain as I am now. It’s in both my legs and bottom back and I’ve been struggling to even get out of bed, to walk to the toilet or to the kitchen for food. I’ve been stuck in bed all day, the slightest movement giving me agony. Painkillers don’t seem to be doing anything nor is heat or cold compress.
Any advice is greatly appreciated as I seriously stuck on what to do

Hi. I think you need an urgent medical review. Any sudden onset pain should be checked out. It’s not necessarily fibromyalgia related. I’ll add that I am a health care professional. All the best and hope you get it sorted soon.
Hi there, sorry for the late response. Like Alb2 said sudden onset of back pain needs checking out asp. If it has become worse please ring 111 or in an extreme emergency 999 . Not everything we feel is is fibro xx
Every few years my lower back goes into spasm it's incredibly painful and I have a lot of experience with pain! You need to ring a doctor, if it's gone into spasm it'll take a few days to right itself. If you are on your own you definitely need to phone a GP bc you will struggle with getting up and getting food and going to the toilet. I would stress you are on your own to the GP if that the case as they will be more likely to help. I hope it gets better soon.
I think this may be what others describe as a flare, when the F-word suddenly gets worse, usually when you think back you can find a trigger. Exams, a death in the family, a breakup, even a cold can set it off. I usually regard it as the goblin who spends his day battering me with a sledge hammer or trying to drill through my joints invites his drunken mates round for a party. Last time they stayed for about 6 months.
Thanks everyone for the help! I was rushed to a&e as my leg started tingling and loosing feeling and was released a day later and waiting for an mri. The painkillers they gave me havnt touched the pain one bit so still in agony but now with crutches
