Chest pains & coughing with Fatigue

Hi everyone. I have developed a new symptom and i'm not sure if it is part of my fibro or something else. I have recently been suffering very bad daily episodes of fatigue. I start off the day OK but by lunch time I hit the wall and have to stop all activity. When I hit the wall I now also have chest pains which seem to be something to do with my lungs as it feels like fluid on my chest. Even though I stop, I then spend the rest of the day coughing, until I go to bed. Does anyone else have these symptoms? Is it a standard fibro thing? Anyone know how to stop it?

Hi C-Salt , this isn’t a fibro thing with the coughing and lungs, some of us suffer with allergies and hayfever which can cause coughing, I would suggest you contact your doctor and get checked out.

This is what I was afraid of, but you can never tell with fibro. After 5 years of fibro nothing surprises me anymore . Thank you Blue52. Much appreciated. I will book an appointment.

If you have a new cough you should get a Covid test too.

Cough only starts when I hit the fatigue wall, but we are tested in work weekly, so I should be covered with that. Thanks for taking the time to Cat.

If it is new, like the leaflets in the doctors say, check it out. It may be nothing or it could be something but the sooner you get it checked out the better.

Hi,

Yes I have been the same as you for many years. I was only diagnosed with fibromyalgia 2 years ago though. I’ve often blamed digestive problems for the coughing. I never cough in a morning, only in the afternoon as I get tired & by evening it’s almost non stop. My poor husband must be deafened by it. Sometimes I sound as though I smoke cigars but I’ve never smoked anything in my life. I did have croup as a child and once read somewhere that after croup, later in life you can develop a cough. I had X-rays years ago but nothing was found. I’ve been meaning to try again with the doctors though because it seems to be getting worse but because of covid, I’ve put it off as I know it’s the first thing they will suspect & getting tests done will be difficult.
