Hello Bernieand ralph,I also take oramorph to supplement the morphine based pills I take when my pain gets bad. Morphene has the effect of suppressing the automatic breathing system of your body. If you take a certain amount that the drug starts to affect this system and you notice you are indeed breathless then you are borderline having too much of the drug. Take a little less. The issue is that you are not breathing enough at times and not realising it until you are actually short of breath and have to breath harder to catch up with your required oxygen saturation level.

Hi Bernie and Ralph, I’ve been taking oramorph for a long time now for the pain. When I first started taking it in conjunction with the morphine tablets I was talking jibberish at times and hallucinating. Ive managed to come off the tablets and just take oramorph, 600ml per month and find that helps. Ive never had an issue with breathing or wheezing but agree with the previous person that your dose might be a bit too high. You can OD on morphine so you do need to be careful, it would result in your breathing slowing and slowing. I hope that helps.
