Fibromyalgia

Hi I have fibromyalgia and its not getting any better I'm in so much pain with it & completely exhausted, I work full time as a carer for the elderly and its having a huge impact on my job and family life, I'm not one to give in but I don't know how much more I can take with working with this condition, I'm off work at the moment for 2 weeks as I now have tendinitis of the wrist and can't weight bare and been told I may have arthritis got to make a appointment for that test to be done, I have dizziness aswell and waiting on my back mri to come back aswell. Just worried about giving up work and how to go about it.

Hi Hidden. So sorry to read how difficult your life is at present. I’m afraid I’m not able to offer advice on medication (I can’t tolerate any) or PIP (I’m retired). However, I know there are many experts on here to advise you.

However, there is one area that I can offer advice. That is - believe in yourself. If you say fibromyalgia is having a huge effect on your life and you can’t carry on as you are - that is a fact. That is not giving up.

So many well meaning family and friends try to convince you that ‘it’s all in your head’. You are not a hypochondriac, drama queen (sorry guys) or an attention seeker. I was accused of all those things. You are sick and you need help. Fibromyalgia is a horrible unpredictable illness.

Trust in yourself and don’t give up ...ever!

UHi. I’ve been going through the same were my fribromylgia has had a major flare up causing me to have less active and server headaches and dizziness. I been in touch with GP for months over the different problems that have flared up. My lastest was shortness of breath and body swelling up in different places. To my surprise the GP has took more blood to rule out long term covid. I have had covid tests in hospital, home kits and the latest tests u do 2-3 times a week at home. All have come back negative but they still want an ANA blood test to confirm either way. Just surprised me as I though it was just flare up of my medical conditions.
