Does anybody take anything specifically for fatigue? As the rheumatologist has decided I should have tramacet daily, duloxetine in the evening, and tramadol if needed instead of tramacet. I know the duloxetine may help..

Medications for Fatigue?
Hi i found duloxetine very helpful for pain but the breakthrough for me was pramiprexole for fatigue . Had more energy so could move more and exercise helps FMS as you know so in effect helped the pain too. marked improvement on them changed my life and how I cope . Would recommend might help you . Best wishes
Did you local gp prescribe this or did a hospital constulant and for both medications what amount?
Do you take anything else? Doctors are very wary to prescribe me much as I'm only 20
Hi Emma.....had a look at NHS website..?.says pramiprexole is prescribed for restless less syndrome and Parkinsons. ...Were you prescribed it for RLS? If so is the benefits to you in terms of your fatigue because it has stopped the RLS hence allowing you to sleep?
I wish I could find something to deal with my fatigue...It is wearing me out!
Hello Stumpedok,
Thank You for asking - no RLS or Parkinson's purely prescribed for my Fibromyalgia contrary to belief it is prescribed for Fibro here in the UK.
Under the care of the Late Professor Davies & prescribed by Dr Ernest Choy a leading specialist in Fibro - in fact I believe he has written a book also. He still remains in a clinical position too, at

Oh my, just found this link after posting - so editing to say he is now a Professor Ernest Choy. I am very pleased to read this as he is a professional, experienced yet empathic , as was the late Prof Davies.
I find my Pramiprexole very helpful in the treatment of Fibro in my own opinion, alongside Tramadol & Pregabalin. If only I had something for the fatigue as before now as you can see from this post Duloxetine was short lived. However, as mentioned the fatigue could be either post viral after 3 viruses and mesenteric lymph adonitis or ME/SEID but undiagnosed. Get POTS symptoms too so wouldn't like to say - need to see a specialist !
Hope this helps
Emma
Hi Emma. ..so you ARE still an Administrator? I'm confused ....you posted recently you were resigning as an Administrator. ...have I missed something in between! ?!
Interesting reply though of course nothing about this usage appears on the NHS info website. Did Dr Choy work at Prof Davies London clinic? As you are still on Pramiprexole, presumably your GP is happy to continue prescribing or are you still under the care of this clinic? It's not a drug for Fibro that I've heard other folks on here talk about that's why I was interested in looking it up.
I'm a bit confused when you say now " If only I had something for the fatigue" as what I picked up from your comment 4 years ago was that "the breakthrough for me was pramiprexole for fatigue". Can you clarify this for me please? All best.
Hi Stumpedok,
No I am not reinstated, it hasn't been removed as yet so I will ask someone to do it. I do miss the forum very much and all of you but just popped in recently to see how things were. I noticed on Facebook the new logo, the Turn2Us charity of the month and the awareness poster so thought I would share.
Yes, Dr Choy was under Prof Davies all those many moons ago and I think the Pramiprexole helped Fibro fatigue but this fatigue whether ME/SEID/PVF/CFS is more profound and it doesn't seem to help any more. Unless I have now become so tolerant of it of course. GP happy to prescribe as advised by Dr Choy.
Great to see Professor Choy and his progression in his career!
All the best
Emma
ah, I have managed to remove it ! Sad tho
Always good to see and talk with you Emma administrator or not!! I read your link for Prof Choy and see he is very into experimental /research medicine....I've not heard anyone else mention him here. Sorry to hear your problems with fatigue continues unabated....as you say the issue of 'tolerance' is always a possibility. Was Prof Davies experimental in his approach to treating Fibro? Do you know if there is any such 'equivalent' resource nowadays available on the NHS as this former clinic you seem to have benefited so much from? I can only wish I had known about it back then and accessed it myself! Ah well such is Life.
Hope your new job going well. Keep in touch.
I will take note of this medicaton for my gp started duloxetine today, hopefully it works!
I take Vyvanse for the fatigue it's like magic and tram adolescent for pain. Dx was January 2013
