I haven’t found that medication helps to be honest. The side effects are often worse than the fibro! I take codeine if it gets really bad but otherwise I find that yoga really helps as does getting enough sleep and keeping stress to a minimum. I hope you can get some relief soon.

Thanks for the reply, I was taking co-codymol but spoke to Gp about another prescription & he is now saying co-codymol not for long term use though I have really painful periods, Back pain & fibro pain. I am referred to pain clinic just waiting...
Hi, I have also been through literally every pain relief prescription n combinations too. I can't find relief unless it's been so strong, it's caused virtually unconsciousness n heart racing etc. So back to my square one n only take 1 n half codrydomol at night. Trouble is chronic pain is still there n so I use exercise n heat pads n rest, literally, getting into bed in the day at times, all to assist as now accepted I have no cure. I wish you well.
Have you tried amitriptylene? Also things like pregabalin? You may also need some pain relief like co-codamol. Have a chat with your GP about potential options - and maybe a referral to the pain clinic and physio.
I have been using CBD oil for the past three years, unfortunately it is expensive and more so as the strength of the oil increases. My body did get used to the 10% and so I increased to 20% but am finding the relief less once again. To increase to 30% is £90.00 a month and is too expensive so I am staying on the 20% and getting some relief.
I take 30mg, have you tried a lower dose?
I’m on 20mg of Nortripline at night it seems to help Abit
60mg twice a day us a high dose of Duloxetine. My pain consultant put me on 30mg twice a day And for flare-ups I can take one more, making 90mg. Try reducing the dose and spacing the doses- try 60mg in the morning or 60mg at night or 30mg in the morning and at night and so on. You will find what best suits you by varying when you take it. If it keeps you awake at night, take it earlier in the day. If it still does not suit you, there are alternatives but they are not licensed for Fibro so the GP has to prescribe them off licence.
I have a 40ml dose once a day but I take it for my arthritis and my fibromyalgia isn't too bad. But I can't distinguish which causes me pain.
They do help with the pain and I take less paracetamol, 2 twice a day if needed. I also use a 10% ibuprofen gel. But the best thing is exercise, it really helps.
So don't give in to it, walk and I used weight training for 10 years as the more muscle fibres you have the less pain you get. Unfortunately I can't do it anymore due to osteoarthritis in my upper back causing weakness in my neck.
But tell your doctor and try a lower dose or change your medication.
Hope this helps you.
