Struggling

Hi everyone. I caught a cold about a month ago. I now have a chest infection and it seems to of sparked off a really bad flare up of my fibramyalgia. Everything hurts, my mood is low and am getting really bad headaches. I'm so worried as the last flare up lasted 5 months. Every time my body has even the smallest trauma I get a bad flare up. I am not in any medication as my GP isn't taking my symptoms seriously. Feeling a bit like I am being ignored

Sorry to hear this Susan. It’s very frustrating when GPs don’t take you seriously. I find emailing them much more effective than phoning - especially if you say you feel you’re not getting the treatment you need and your physical and mental health are suffering. This written record tends to make them pay a bit more attention. Good luck!

Ah, ok. That’s a good start. I find you sometimes need to break through to them by saying stuff like “How would you feel in my position? Would you be satisfied with no treatment, no action plan, and constant pain?” Let us know how you get on x
