sorry you have another condition to add to the list xxx
Hi Drhook,
Sorry to hear that. Nevertheless, I think we're lucky enough to be living at a time where diabetes is considered treatable without medication. Before I make people angry here for saying that, I would encourage you to explore low carb diets and formulate your own opinion. In my case, fibromyalgia triggered pre-diabetic symptoms and I was lucky enough at that time to find a solution that keeps me away from medication. If I hand't found out 3 years ago, I would definitely be diabetic now getting treatments with insulin injections.
Again, every person is different, so you'll have to experiment on your own.
All the best.
Hi depends on level as sometimes over the border blood sugars can be down to other things increasing it! Meds.Thyroid.Hormones and other things can unbalance things.
I'm in same boat as you. Mind the Bumpf info you get though!
Got told by nurse type at Quacks.Meat=False.Fat=False.Cheese=False.
So much she said was old false tat.
When did a class run by local clinic at hospital they dispelled most of it asked me what i could like for Breakfast. Sourdough brown bread or Rye with cheese.tomato and peanut butter. he said great sourdough has low GI and rye both have low sugars.Cheese is protein which is what you need to kick start body.Peanut butter same (i only have Meridian as no sugar/salt or palm oils) Tea with Waitrose Duchy blue said yes recommend blue as the others have had nutrients removed. Red has more sugar than green and green more than blue!
It's all about spacing the day out look at what your eating and try to balance one against other.
If have Chocolate have plain high coco stuff which helps digestion.
Keep fruit amounts down plus fruit juices.
Brown over white in rice/Breads etc and i avoid Mothers Muck and any of that processed/steam breads
Many thanks, really good advice!
