I have tried all the Meds my doc has given me and I cannot find one that will suit my IBS for fibromyalgia if it doesn't give me diarrhea it gives me reflux so I am giving up , wide awake at 1am with no Meds and muscle spasms I seriously have had enough of the pain today

More ways of taking meds than tablets have you tried any other delivery methods that would spare aggravating IBS symptoms.

Hi Ken I am getting to the stage where I think I just cannot tolerate any Meds, all seems to upset me or just space me out, I have decided I am going down the herbal route, going to troll the Internet and see what I can find today. That is when I can see properly Ha Ha so tired

Take care and thanks for your comment.

Tracey.

I was diagnosed with IBS over ten years ago but after a recent bad spell my GP sent me back to gastro team for more investigations which discovered I had autoimmune gastritis and Bile Salt Malabsorption, the later causing the diarrhoea and the former upper gastric pain. Bile salt malabsorption is diagnosed by a new scan, 1 week apart after swallowing a capsule, and is only available in some areas. However apparently it is responsible for a high number of so called IBS diagnoses. May be worth pushing for more tests if you haven't already.

So sorry you are having problems. 6 months ago I thought the tummy problems I was experiencing were because of all the medications so with the help of my doctor I stopped taking them. They were pregablin, amyltriptine and tramadol but I still have paracetamol and co codomol. The symptoms persisted and it transpires I not only have IBS but also Diverticulitis and Crohns. Just got a letter from the hospital telling me this and also a narrowing of the bowel BUT no idea what I have to do to alleviate it all.

I am trying Mindfulness at the moment but biggest problem is sleeping with all the pain.

I will take a look at the internet I suppose for help as to what to avoid eating

Good luck

Lizzie x

Sorry to hear you are suffering so much 🙁 I have found avoiding gluten helps with my digestive issues. I know some people have using a TENS machine helpful for pain. I personally use those lavender bags you can heat in the microwave, and I have an electronic massager (a gift from years ago) with changeable heads, the ones you use depend on how gentle or firm pressure you need. I use the lavender bag first to warm up, then start with gentle pressure and work my way up.

Hi Krissy I use the bags too, but prob now is I have it almost everywhere even my toes,I don't eat any Gluten but it makes no difference to me

But thanks for your reply Take care.x

Someone needs to invent a giant microwave and a giant lavender bag we can heat and then crawl into!

Hope you can find some relief and good luck in your search. x
